I know I started my own thread back in December or January. At that time there were no R56s available, and all anyone could say was that the car had been redesigned from previous models. Release date was 2/17, and we ordered in December. The dealer couldn't even tell us what the R56 would drive like, and didn't have color charts, interior pictures, etc.

Complicating that was the hatred so many people in the MINI community had for the new arrival. It was worse on the internet (and still exists a little), but I even saw it in person. So many people predicted a world meltdown the minute the R56 hit these shores. Fortunately that hasn't happened. Sure, there are a few mechanical issues that appear to be on a number of '07s, but not anything that didn't compare to the previous edition (and even model years)! And I think the later '07s have had less of them than the early ones. I've got a week 3 build, and I know of some software issues we had that no longer exist, for example.

Oh well, take it from me--someone who's got 15,000+ miles on a car delivered on February 21--you'll love it, and it will be well worth the wait!
Amen, Deb! Love my week 3 build and, since I only drive it on the weekends, I think of errands and all the places I need to go come Saturday. The guy at Shipleys donuts moons over my car when I show up Saturday morning for two bags of donut holes for the kids. My 2 year old whines that she doesn't go to school in the MINI in the morning. What can I say? The kid's got taste. My issues have been very few, and always quickly resolved.

Love it!
Love it!
Love it!
After 2 months, 3 days and 3450 miles, I still grin every morning when I see Otto in the driveway.
I can honestly say that I can't think of any car at any price on the market today that I would trade my MINI for.

One month, no complaints at all. In fact my wife loves driving it so much she wants one now
I had a toyota yaris before this for gas milage and it was blah. It got me from a to b but was no fun.
The mcs is amazingly quick and nimble.
Its not my blazing fast show/drag car SS, but it makes me smile where the yaris made me cringe and duck so people wouldn't notice me driving.

I don't have mine yet, but I love it already. All I needed was a test drive. Should be here in 2-3 weeks.

Are you referring to the weather/door sills which MINI has apparently phased out of later production R56's???

I heard the strip costs $25! Glad I was early and got mine with the car.

Still can't figure out why they deleted this. Oh well, supposedly American Airlines saved $50,000 a year by putting one less olive in their salads, or so the urban legent goes. Guess MINI feels the need to do the same thing.

I love my Fluffy Bunny...when she is parked in the lot at work (usually in between two huge pickup trucks) coworkers start milling around her...peeking inside...pointing out parts of her curves to one another...yesterday my boss came running up and hopped inside and asked for a ride...you should have seen him smile!

Shanek, it's a matter of having it or not, as far as I know. I've seen it both ways on the "newer" '07s.

Where is the weatherstriping located? around the window? Under the door where the convenience light is located?

I do this all the time! Then when I come back to the car and look around at all the other "normal" vehicles I get a smile because I know I get to drive THIS home.

Haha me too, it's so fun, although i'm always losing my MINI in the parking lot among all the Toyota compacts and the like.

You can alleviate that by parking way out in the fringes of the lot!

Yah know, I try to do that with my SS but some moron with a POS ALWAYS has to park right beside it and I still got dinged. So far I am far from the total cost of mods that has so the mini doesn't get to park way out in nowhere land.
