pic request: anthracite headliner vs. regular grey

Hey Guys,

Trying to decide if the anthracite is worth it. Anyone have pics of the two? (grey vs. anthracite). Preferably on a plain black interior...

What're the rest of your planned interior options?

Here's a pic of mine, it's not the greatest pic, but hopefully it will help. I had the gray in my 06 MCS, then when I got the 07 MCS, I went with the anthracite and I couldn't be happier. The 1st pic I had the sun screen open, ignore me and the dog in the 2nd pic, lol..but you can see how dark it is inside with the anthracite headliner.

I've got a black/tan leather interior w/ the Anthracite headliner and it is ABSOLUTELY THE WAY TO GO! This is one option that I would check again in a heartbeat.

- It simplifies the interior - one less color keeps the design sharper
- It doesn't show dirt (if you like riding with the windows open, the grey will show it after a few years)

Thanks Robin. Hey--shout out to Carmel. I used to live there and my parents still do, so I'm in the area a lot. Maybe I'll come take a look at your shift ***** in person sometime.

Here is the anthracite with English oak and chrome which, in my unbiased opinion, is a very classy look:

Hey slvgmini,
I have 17 inch wheels with 205/45R-17 tires. I absolutely love this combo, as they are much lighter than the stock wheels with runflats....a good thing when you're small like me, lol. I can actually put these on myself

Although it's frustrating that MINI charges such a premium for a simple color change, I'd say it's well worth the money. Same for the white turn signals and chrome line interior (although the latter is a bit of a different story). But given that these are very subjective decisions you have to go with the look you want.

BMW's & Mini...

My last BMW (E46 M3) had the anthricite headliner & I did not like the dark, confining & light trapping quality of the dark grey color. I am very sensitive to spatial qualities, maybe more so than most.
It does look very nice from a design standpoint,I am a design professional, but the standard grey looks great too.
Best of luck

Anthracite with the brushed aluminium interior. Definitely get the anthracite, WELL worth the $200.

Ok- so I have no idea what Anthrocite actually is. Is it a cloth-looking surface or is it "solid"?

I personally wish all cars had the option. I think having an anthracite headliner really ties the interior together well. My dealer told me today though that it is now $250 !? Still worth it in my opinion.

Anthracite is a form of coal, but in car terms, it's usually a very dark grey color, that's almost black. For the headliner, it's the dark colored option that is otherwise the same material.
