I can't believe so many owners are considering or actually painting the control arms. Whoever suggested it should be laid off from the MINI design team.

I used what I had sitting in the shop, a can of flat black Krylon, for the control arms. For the muffler, I went to the local discount store and bought a can of 1200 degree flat black paint found in the automotive section...

And before spraying, I just cleaned all surfaces w/ a Clorox wipe. Seemed to do the trick...

Here is a diffuser made by Hamann that will lower the rear clearance a little. Kind of pricey for me, but I like the looks better than the JCW kit.

Sorry about that, wrong link. Here is the one for the R56.

Didn't find any stateside distributors that have the 2007 parts yet. I'm sure they will get there soon though.

Suppose i dont want to have a spoiler in the cars color. Can i put a gray rear Hamman spoiler? It may sound crazy but im mean a gray one like the weel arches so that its a continuance!

The Hamman one shown must have been painted to match the white wheel arch so it stands to reason that it could be painted to match the stock color. Another option would be AC Schnitzer

http://www.ac-schnitzer.de/en/mini/p...6/aerodynamic/

I saw the blue car at a dealership a couple months ago, very sharp looking, but not extreme styling. Cotact the USA Schnitzer dealers listed on the dealer page and see if they come in the stock black colors.

Too bad the Hamman line is only distributed in canada now.

i would wait awhile....someone is going to duplicate the Challenge diffuser that will really work. Mini won't do it because then they couldn't sell the CF diffuser that no one wants to pay for.

I posted these pics in another thread but I though I should post them here where they belong. I didnt trust myself with a can of spraypaint under the car so I bought a half pint of rustoleum flat black and a $.63 brush and went to town. It took only 15 minutes and cost less than 5 dollars, I didn't even have to jack the car up there is plenty of room under there

after:

perhaps I should paint the remainder of the silver colored parts back there... gotta save some for another day

I actually like the visible suspension pieces....after all, this is what makes my MINI go around corners like magic, right? Let's flaunt it.....

To each their own. I don't mind it so much either, but many people hate the look.

Good job, zach999. I can't really tell from the pics - did you only paint the control arms???
