I saw some at the Fall Dragon (howdy, Kevin!) that had been hit with a flat black rattle can, and they were all but invisible. IMHO, the stock ones are CR/V fugly, and that's saying something!
Depending on how much negative camber I have to deal with after installing the coilovers, I'm either going to paint the stock ones flat black or replace them with dark-colored adjustables.
And it gets even worse when you come to think that there are other cars, cheaper (Kia Ceed, Hyundai Accent, Golf TSI, Opel Vectra, Ford Focus ect.) that have their rear view, very well or at least better covered!
The mini has the wheels placed in the four corners unlike most of the cars that have been mentioned. therefore their overhangs are obviously going to do a bit more hiding?!? maybe im just trying to cover for MINI because i own a r56! lol

You can have a car with wheels at all four corners without showing that much control arm.......just look at the r53/50.
But it is a fixable issue as discussed.....so no worries.
I agree, they don't look right to me as well.
looks too high? like that Ford on top
But lowering would help and also that JCW kit covers a bit and looks nice!
Interesting.. I can't help but wonder why so many guys who drive R53s are so quick to find fault in the R56.
They're both Minis, right?.. or am I missing something here?
rally said it best.
I like both cars and would be willing to get a full-tilt-boogie JCW car if and when they release something beyond the basic kit that's out there now (240hp, BBK, AWD please!). I hope that NAM has moved passed the incessant bashing of the new car....it's tiresome to listen to.
You can do what you want, of course, but given the weight and significant drag reductions on R56, it might be good to understand the MCS rear end a bit more before messing w/ it too much. If the JCW kit is part of the solution, it does seem reasonable to expect that has been well thought out, too.
When I changed out my RF tires, I sprayed everything silver that wasn't part of the brakes with a flat black paint. I didn't do around the bolt because I was only using a spray can, and will do touch-ups when I paint my brakes. My rear arms aren't noticeable at all and I think it helps blend everything together. Also have the hypersport package.

That looks really good. I am sure it costs a lot less than lowering springs too.
