At Last!

Hello Everyone!

I have been religiously visiting NAM in an attempt to get my "Mini-fix" while waiting for my new car. Today, I was finally able to pick up my Mini from the dealership!

I actually had an incredibly short wait. I really lucked out on the day I ordered my car and placed it just in time! I ordered on 9/20/07 and was picking up my baby on 10/24/07! Just barely over a month!

Of course I took a several photos and will definitely be taking several more in the future! As you can see from the pictures, I got the Hypersport kit which you don't really see too often. I really like the way it looks! I have a set of painted fenders coming in soon so I'll be replacing the black fenders as soon as the painted ones come in. We'll probably be putting the new wheels on the car tomorrow and we're still waiting on a bunch of stuff to come in - springs to lower the car, the rear sway bar, intake, a few other carbon fiber parts, I've got to get the windows tinted, thinking of putting a clear bra on the car to help protect the paint, etc. etc.

I would also like to take this opportunity to really commend our MA! We purchased the vehical from Brian Harris Mini in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and could not have had a more pleasant buying experience!! Our MA was EXTREMELY helpful from the first time we stepped onto the sales lot. We had great communication with him the entire time and he was very good about returning our calls.

We asked about discounts on the MSRP at the time we ordered our Mini and our MA said that the don't really offer discounts but he would give us $500 worth of free accessories. We were very happy with that and I had my accessories picked out a few days later. The accessories I wanted came out to be a little over the $500 freebie amount. When we told our MA what accessories we wanted we said that we knew it added up to more than $500 and had no problem paying the difference.

We also asked if our MA if the financing department would be able to match a lower interest rate we had been approved for through Capital One. He checked with the finance manager and said that they could definitely match the rate but he thought he could get the finance manager to beat the rate! He said he would check on it and let us know.

Well, when we went in today, our MA said that he was able to get the finance manager to beat the rate by an additional quarter percent! AND on top of that, he covered the extra costs on the accessories! So we got over $500 of free accessories, the free tank of gas and a couple of complimentary keychain fobs!

What more could you ask for?! So for anyone looking to buy a Mini in the Gulf South area, I would DEFINITELY recommend Brian Harris Mini in Baton Rouge, Louisiana!! Our MA's name is Hedrick Wood and he's actually the Mini Sales Manager. Definitely a GREAT guy to work with!

A funny story on the way home...like I mentioned, the dealership is in Baton Rouge, Louisiana which is about an hour away from us. My husband and I drove there to pick up my Mini. I drove the Mini home and he drove his Suburban. I started out behind him but switched to being in front of him somewhere along the way home.

It's a two lane highway for most of the way back and at one point, I was in the left lane when I came up on a slow driving car. Well, the Mini wanted to pass it up so I put on my turn signal and switched lanes. I glanced in my rear view mirror and saw my husband blinking his lights at me with a concerned look on his face. I couldn't figure out why he was doing that until I suddenly realized I was about to pass up our exit!

I was having such a total BLAST driving the car that I didn't realize that we were almost home and I needed to exit! I quickly switched back in front of him and took the exit. Oops! LOL

Anyways, here are some delivery and post-delivery photos of my new Mini! Still trying to find a fitting name!

Thanks for reading my very long post LOL!

Wow, you went hog-wild on the JCW Carbon Fiber! I have been looking for a picture of the MCS with the JCW Carbon Fiber Hood Scoop. It looks great!

Very nice car... I'd tell you that you're going to love it, but I'm sure you already do! We just got our '07 about 3 weeks ago, and can relate to your excitement. Congratulations, it's a beauty!
