Does ANYONE make R56 brake pads yet???

OK... so the R56 has been avaliable now for what? 8 or 9 months, yet none of the "usual" aftermarket brake pad manufacturers have anything for the R56!

Maybe (please?) it's just me, but when can I expect to see some quality aftermarket pads for my R56S? C'mon... Hawk, Pagid, SOMEBODY step up and make some pads for me before I've tracked mine to the backing plates (I don't have much further to go), and I'm forced to put factory pads in. Besides that, I have cleaned a lifetime of brake dust off my wheels with the stock pads, and would hope I can find either a ceramic or other low-dust solution out there; please... somebody's got to have info on when something will be available!

If the R56 front brakes are the same as the JCW R53 brakes, can't on use pads for that setup?

I see what I did there. The clear bra add says "fits 2007+ hardtops".

Crap.

Good question, and I would assume 'yes'. But if it's that easy, why hasn't anyone updated their website to that fact after again, only 8 or 9 months?

Lol, its all good.

And no, I don't think its a straight swap out for the R53 and R56 brakes. The front R56 breaks are basically the same as the front R53 JCW brakes, but there are some differences.

But who makes aftermarket pads for JCW R53 brakes? Those seem to be almost nonexistent as well.

EBC has some...the "green stuff" ones.....Mini Mania has them....I wonder how much of an affect they'll have vs. stock pads?

EBC makes the front (Part # DP21388) and rear (Part # DP21701) for the R56. They're $80 and $65, respectively, from Partsbin.com. However, EBC pads (even the Green street version) are notorious for tearing up rotors. They're phenomal for braking, make far less dust, but you'll be replacing the rotors more often than the pads. Food for thought...

Cheers

EBC GreenStuff is a horrible product. I had EBC rotors...they warped in 3 months of commuting to work. This was on a 2200lb car. All new calipers, pads, rotors and lines had been installed....I got to do new pads and rotors just a few months later, this time I was smarter and avoided EBC. There's a reason Tire Rack stopped selling EBC, though I did get to pay a high price to learn this for myself.
