Finally Placed my Order Tonight!!!

Its Offical, I signed my life (savings) away and Im now one of you!

I just orderd my DS/B MCS tonight at Inskip MINI in RI, my MA Tim was really great with helping me out.

The hardest part for me was desiding the color of the car and what wheels I wanted if i got a set threw MINI. I ended up not getting the sports package due to the fact that I hate the crown spokes. There was also no way they would give me the flame spokes for the same price. So I ended up getting the options separately saving me 250 bucks. I figure I can apply that money towards a set of wheels I really like. Not only that but ill have an extra set of tires/wheels for the winter... thus why I got the all seasons on the s-winders.

so here is how i configuered it

paint
Black Bonnet Stripes
Dark Silver Body Color
Black Roof/Mirrors
White Turn Signals

package
No selections in this category

performance
Dynamic Stability Control
Front Fog Lamps
Xenon Headlamps w/Power Wash
Limited Slip Differential
6-Speed Getrag Manual
16" S-Winders (Performance)
All Season Tires

cockpit
Sport Seats
Chrome Line Interior
On-Board Computer
6-spkr AM/FM CD Player
Anthracite Headliner
Leatherette: Black/Grey
Leather Sport Wheel w/Multifunction
Interior Surface Piano Black

TOTAL MSRP AS CONFIGURED* $25,000

I also ened up talking the guy into giving me this for assesories for free

Chrome Exterior Mirrors
Invisishield: Upper Kit
Invisishield: Lower Kit

Im really happy with my purchase, its just gonna be a little rough waiting for the next 6 weeks till she gets here. I suppose that gives me a good amount of time to come up with a name for her.

Sounds sweet!

If you have any idea you might want rear fogs at some point, spend the $100 now to get them, as it will cost *many* times over that to add them afterwards.

I wish mine were configured with them (I bought off the lot).

im curious, what would the point of rear fog lights be?

also any other input or suggestions like this is welcomed and encouraged as the car obviously still hasnt gone into production so things can be changed.

thanks so much

the rear fogs are for really bad weather... it really helps cars see you. Also, it fills in one of the toggle switches in the car. If you dont get it, theres a blank spot that IMHO looks bad.

Congrats, unx!!! Great specs and great freebies, too! I agree that the rear fogs are a good idea. Plus, you can throw 'em on to get tailgaters to back off.

+1 on the rear fogs. It completes the look of the rear boot.

Good specs and great freebees. Enjoy your wait by tracking your MINI and thinking about all the great drives you will have in a few weeks.

I'm with you guys on the do it now for cheaper and theory of having all the toggle switches, but I disagree on the looks of the rear fogs. I test drove an MCS in DS over the weekend without the rear fogs and I like the black plastic there instead of the red reflectors. The black is cleaner IMO.

As far as the toggles, they seem almost hidden in front of the gearshift so I really had to look for the missing toggle. If i hadn't read here about the missing toggle, I wouldn't have noticed.

Congrats on your order! Should be pretty sweet!

As far as the rear fogs go, it's not really a matter of filling in a toggle for me. I really hate the fact that if you don't get the fogs, it's quite obvious where they would go. If the black plastic was all one piece, it'd be a lot better.

I did a quick search and found a photo of the rear end without the fogs: Link to photo post.

Anyway (and sort of off topic), I love having a self-installed rear fog on my current car!

im actually all set with there not being a toggle switch there. i dont see any real use in having the fogs and i think it looks cleaner on a DS car not to have them... im sure they would look alright on a red car though.

the only thing im contemplating on right now is if i should get the factory installed alarm or not. what do you guys think of it. i usally dont keep anything expensive in my car.

also how long does one usally have to be able to change stuff on there order?

thanks again for all your input guys

Congrats on your new Mini! I was mulling over the options for over a month before I ordered. I am a gadget freak thus my specs show that fact! Ultimately, whatever you are happy with is what is important. I chose the NAV system due to the fact I commute 80 miles each way to work and being in L.A., the integrated traffic was what sold me. I also love the fact that I'm getting Lifetime Sirius. I've had xm for over a year and love satellite radio.
Do try and score a free Mini shirt when you go pick up your baby.

the mirror is completely covered, as for the invisishield he said that he pretty sure that he can get it covered for 100% of the installation due to my trade in situation.

basicly they offered me a $1200+ less for my car then every other dealership i went to so they said they would work something out with the accessories instead. its stupid but better then nothing i figure

also anyone have thoughts on that factory installed alarm

thanks

The Invisishield kits, are those for the headlights and fogs, or a complete clear bra? I got the Invisishield kit for the fogs, didn't know there was a dealer bra available.

The accessories book lists Invisishield Film for: Bonnet and Mirrors, Front Bumper, Aero Kit Front Bumper, Fog Lights (as well as the rear bumper strip). If the picture is accurate the bonnet option looks to cover up to just above the headlights and the hood emblem.
