MCS availability? Dealer says not till June

Does that sound right? The dealer told me that it would be June before I could order a MCS because the factory was ramping up Clubman production.

Agreed. Especially since MINIUSA configurator is still showing them.

See. That's what I thought. I wonder if he meant that that dealership couldn't get one until then? Allocation quotas maybe? There is something a bit strange about the dealership (NW Mini in Tacoma), I just can't put my finger on it.

Maybe we should have Homeland Security look into it.

As for the lead time, you should expect a 1-3 month turn around on an 07 MCS order depending on the dealer. The sales preson you talked to is confused or high or both

Unless things have changed WA state only has one Mini dealership and to have a wait time of 6 - 9 months in not all that uncommon. When I had Skeeter in for the Ipod install, there was a couple taking delivery of their new Mini. They ordered from East Bay, flew down and made the trip back to WA state.

Oh man, that's a ridiculous wait time.

Come down to San Diego! I was at Brecht MINI this morning, and the lot is full of beautiful MINIs. I saw my very first Oxy Blue! While we were there, a car carrier showed up. I'd never seen one before. It was quite impressive

You'd do better spec'ing your MINI online, emailing to the dealer of your choice, and flying to pick it up once it comes in.

Really. I ordered mine on 8/15, built 8/24, should have it by 9/30. Why only one Mini dealer in all of WA? There are like nine within an hour's drive of my house (So Cal).

There are only 80-some Mini dealers in the whole country. Look around at a map. One dealer in Washington. One here in Oregon -- in Portland, 200 miles away from me. None in Idaho; well, maybe that has something to do with Larry Craig.

I gave up on NW Mini when they told me a 8 months wait and $500 on top of MSRP. Try Portland Rasmussen MINI, they're much better wait time (~6 weeks line up for production date) and better price.

That's too bad. I ordered mine this week (Mini of Concord) and was told it would go into production this month. It won't be here until October though. But it's one more example showing Minis are still being produced.

One more reason I'm happy to have escaped from Washington.

When I ordered mine, I was told by my MA at Rasmussen that they do get a number of people from WA state coming down here for the shorter wait time, even though the wait is still about 3 months. I Hope I don't upset anyone in Portland for mentioning this...

I concur--go to Rasmussen MINI in Portland. It seemed to me that NW Mini was more interested in selling the overpriced used cars on the lot than they were in ordering a new one for a customer.

I was in East Bay Mini (SF area of CA) on Aug 20 - while there a couple were putting luggage in a new PW mini - at first I just thought there were testing the luggage area - then relized they had flown in - I ask where they came from... WA - said the wait up there was 8 months and they were able to order and get a CooperS at EB in 8 weeks and at MSRP.....

That's not a bad idea, you could then have a nice drive home up 101 and get aquainted with the new car.

Fly down here and buy one from Amanda at Mosa; then you get the pleasure of a nice motoring back home...
There's plenty to choose from around here.
