R56 Turbo Blow-Hole
Turbo Blow-Hole
Does anyone know where the excess boost is vented? Verbal description GREAT, photo even better!
I am in love with my Mini's blowhole! I frequently turn off the radio just to listen to the pffffft when I drive around. This is my first turbo car. Are other turbo's as amusing? If so, I am bummed that I have been missing the fun all these years.
Thanks in advance.

Anyone know if the turbo is upstream or downstream of the airflow sensor? If it's upstream, I suspect we're going to see a lot of aftermarket kits to vent the excess pressure to the atmosphere instead of redirecting it into the intake tract, for that extra-loud PSHHHH! sound.

More often than not, an aftermarket BOV causes drivability issues. The only performance reason to put one on a turbo car is if the stock one isn't holding boost. Until someone puts a larger compressor on the R56, stock works just fine.
