window lines and

I have 2 (edit) i mean 4 questions ;-)
1. The driver's side windows has lines on it, I assume from it rubbing against something as it goes up and down. Is that something I should call the dealer about and it should be covered under warranty?

2. Any reason not to get window tinting? I like all the sun that comes through the roof and all the windows, makes the car feel more spacious, but when its 105 out, and having a black interior I thinking tinting might be a good idea.

3. Will my black dash fade over time from sunlight? I've been using a sun visor during the day when my car is in the lot at work (no covered parking), wondering if I should continue doing that even when its not hot to cut down on fading.

4. Considering safety and gas mileage issues, which is better, a luggage rack or a small trailer? I have a sunroof.. if that makes any difference.

I can answer #3. Keep a coat of Aerospace 303 UV protectant on it. Apply every 3 weeks on a cool dash. This may be purchased at most Marine stores, also apply it to all rubber trim outside. Great stuff. As for your window, Ibelieve that is a warrenty issue.

1. I am seeing the same thing and I am figuring it will go away after use. Mine also squeak after getting wet - same guess.

3. 303 is also what I am using inside and out. I found it at Ace hardware

So is this better than the Amour-All type products?

Armor-All does not even compare to the 303 products. Armour-all has never and will never get anywhere near my R56 or my wife's R53.

agree with Simpson...Armor all is way too shiny/slick. I used to dilute Arnmor All 50/50 till I discovered 303. 303 does a better job and leaves a matte finish. Not even close.

You can find 303 at Camping World also if you have one in your area. I discovered it when I was building my RV/toy hauler. Works great. Not too shiny. If you want your tires to have that wet, really shiny look, 303 won't work for that. It leaves them black, but black without any shine. The UV protection is very good and it makes cleaning them later much easier. Dirt wipes off. I just did my work truck today with 303 all around. Looks awesome. It has black fender flares and black trim (door handles, mirrors, front bumper, etc). 303 has kept it like new. I don't let the Armor-All dog pee on any of my vehicles!

You can get banned permanently from this site just for MENTIONING armour-all (doesn't deserve Capital Letters).

We'll let you slide. THIS time.

Hey thanks. But really I just mentioned them as a point of reference.
Lesson learned

1. Do the streaks clean off? Not actually scratching the glass are they? If not, don't worry about it. Probably some grease or somthing caught in the window gasket. Should go away over time.

2. No. No reason at all. Tint cools things off and cuts down on the UV, too. Should help prevent fading (mentioned in #3).

3. Yes. Keep putting up that front shade.

4. I would do the rack and a aero box if I had to choose between the two. More weight up high (which is bad)... but no trailering issues to deal with, either (many of which that can be worse than putting weight up high IMO).
