R56 Sparkling Silver with tinted windows pics anyone?
Sparkling Silver with tinted windows pics anyone?
I'm considering getting the windows of my Sparkling Silver Metallic MCS tinted. Anyone have this colour with tinted windows that I could look at a picture of?
Thanks!
Adam
Thanks!
Adam
That may be. I saw a dark grey R56 with a tint today and it looked great. I think it was partly because of the black top. Mine has body colour top. Life is hard when you're spec'ing out your Mini
I have an appt to get mine done on August 8th. I'm going to get the roof done with limo tint. If I don't like it, out it comes.
That looks awesome, thanks!
I think I'm convinced.
Are you saying that they're going to tint the sunroof?
Cheers,
Adam

That's correct.. These Southeast NC summers are a sumbich, and even if I leave the sunroof in the 'up' position while I'm at work or at home during the day, it gets almost unbearable in the car. I love the roof, and wouldn't have taken the car without it, but I'd really like to do something to lower the temps inside the car.
Until someone comes up with something better, I'm going to try limo-tinting the inside of both the front and rear sections of the roof to see how it works.
I had a '00 Corvette Coupe with the glass top, and it was the same way - HOT in the summer! The solution was easy, buy a piece of static cling material (see below) that stuck to the inside of the removable roof. It dramatically lowered the inside temps, yet it let in enough light to let me know I had a clear roof.
I'm actually surprised that one of the enterprising Mini vendors hasn't copied this idea - it works.
Note: the liner below is gray for photo purposes - when you buy one it comes in black. Cheap ($30) and very easy solution to a common problem.

Cool idea. I'm curious to hear how it works out for you.
Take care,
Adam

There is a whole thread in the mods section with lots of pics: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=98779
We JUST got ours tinted this weekend. Wife's car is CR/B with Black Interior and Black headliner. It got HOT in that car. We did 20% rear/sunroof and 35% sides. I'm glad we did. I almost went 50% sides. I'm SO glad we got the sunroof done. BIG difference in heat here in LA.
