R56 Lowest price possible?

Lowest price possible?
I wasn't sure where to post this so I put it here. What is the lowest price you can get a MC for these days? Is it possible to get it at MSRP at all? Considering a MINI as my first car and was wondering how much it would set me back. Oh, and by the way I sure do love my dad (and the budget he's set).

I think MSRP should be possible in socal as we're only paying $75 extra up in Portland with a 3 mo wait. $600 over in Seattle with a 6 mo wait. A little shopping should get you msrp and an extra or 2. I've even heard of less on the east coast, but more dealers there.
You get props for remembering your dad and the quote.

$18,700 for a MC with non-metallic paint and zero packages or options selected (+tax and licenseing, of course). You will definately have to special order that one though, since I can imagine too many dealers pre-speccing such a bare-bones car.
Absolutely. Lots of dealers charging MSRP with no markup (search around a bit). If you believe everything you read, there are some dealers in Texas knocking hundreds off MSRP! Imagine, a brand new MC for $18,000?

Thanks for all the help. I'll look up Long Beach MINI. How does Assael MINI in Monrovia fare? Just wondering since it's the closest.
Oh, and BTW, I'm saving all the money I can so I can get some extras (a.k.a. English Oak Trim, Fog Lights, and maybe Cold Weather Package). The JCW shift light looks pretty cool too.
Well, I still have to learn how to drive stick but I'll get the hang of it. Lessons aren't too expensive.

But they give you the floor mats and a full tank of gas for that. At least they've added that to their website to let people know. Inn the past, they said they were selling at MSRP while adding the extra fee.

I custom ordered mine in the middle of May 2007 at Mini of Manhattan for $765 off of MSRP. The only other fee besides sales tax was a license/registration fee of $212. They also threw in floor mats.
I had the advantage of competition. Here around NYC, there are 3 dealers in the area, one in Manhattan and a couple in New Jersey. Mini of Manhattan told me they sold it at MSRP and would not budge, but after I found a dealer in New Jersey to give it to me $700 off of MSRP, they gave in.
Shop around if you can.
