Ordering A New MCS Question

I have searched through so many posts and cant find the answer im looking for. I asked a dealer about how long is the wait to receive a mcs that has been ordered and he said 6 weeks. Is this true? If not what is the avg. duration of having to wait? Like I said I couldnt find this answer so I gave up and just posted here. Sorry if this is a repeat. Thanks.

Depends on where you live

I live in northern California. I ordered an MCS in April and picked it up July 15.

the PacNW is the worst.... I waited for over three months. For people in Seattle area the waiting period is over 4 months if they order.

BOTTOM LINE: Variable.

But to TX, I would think 6wks is the minimum. Some are getting theirs in 22-30 days on the East Coast if they hit the dock in Southhampton just right.

I'd bet 6-7 wks for you. On average, of course. I going to be right at 6wks to being within 4 hrs of the port b/c I missed the boat in the UK.

Check people's signatures. The data is out there, particularly in the "Wk __ Support Pages."

I live just outside of houston (port houston) so i didnt know about how long it would be. The reason why i ask is b/c im saving for my down payment and i want to kill two birds with one stone. I want to have the mcs by oct or nov so I wasnt sure when to order it.

The best thing to do would be to ask your MA. They should be able to provide you with a fairly accurate estimation as to when it would arrive if you were to place your order today. They will know how long their waiting list (if any) and should know the average build/transport time. I'm in the Pacific Northwest and for me, it'll be right around 3 months from the time I ordered until I take delivery.

Ordered from Momentum on hwy 59 on 7/13 ... built following week ... ready to ship on 7/21. Ready for pick-up around week of 8/20 ... That probably is the latest timeline - 6 weeks or so.

Good luck !

I thought it was "Motoring Advisor"

Anyway, the bottom line is it all depends on where you live, and which dealership you order from. Each dealer is only allotted a certain number of cars each month, so you may have to wait a while for your car to even go into production if your dealer doesn't have any open slots. My MA told me the MINI dealership in Scottsdale Arizona has almost a year wait from order to delivery!!!

The reason there is a variable is because each dealer is given a certain allotment of vehicles that they can order each month.

If your dealer has already gone through their current allotment, it depends on how long their waiting list is to determine whether your order will go through next month or the following month or two.

The question you should ask your MA is whether there is currently a waiting list and how long it would take you before your order would be added to the system.
