R56 All aboard the TARIFA *** July 2007
Tharkun--
Thanks for providing such detailed info.
I was wondering...if you are in Tracy, our Minis may be traveling together all the way to the dealer. Where does a person from Tracy order a Mini? Niello? Only catch: I'm told my Mini may be held up after docking because it will get its racing stripes prior to getting on the Sacramento-bound truck.

Since the transport trucks travel up I-5 from Oxnard, I would guess your Mini will be on a direct route to Sacramento, and not take the I-205 bay area route. But that would logical, so who knows what happens.
I visited the four dealers in the area and went with East Bay Mini in Pleasanton. All were selling at MSRP and I had thought about going to Niello but the 70 mile trek was an issue.

Knowing my luck and degree of impatience, my Mini will probably travel to each Bay Area dealer before turning toward Sacramento...

Arrived about 13 hours early, was scheduled to arrive at 01:00 on 7/27.

Have you talked to East Bay at all? I haven't heard from them since I ordered. I guess they wont contact me til its actually there...
Also he is still saying 10 days from the VDC, but think that is just the standard answer.
I was in the area on Saturday so stopped by to check out the new building. Talked to Robert Matthews for a few and asked about devlivery times once they had the car. His statement was one day prep time, unless there was dealer installed items that took longer.

10 days???
My guy here at Niello in Sacramento said 3-4 days + 2 for the stripes to be put on at the VDC. Probably your guy likes to overestimate to avoid complaints and mine is a dreamer. My question--if it arrives in Manzanillo early, this doesn't necessarily mean it leaves Manzanillo early, right?

From watching other ships I don't expect to leave Manzanillo sooner than the orignal date of the 27th. Could wait for a day or two for a slot for the locks, so don't expect the arrival date at Port Hueneme on 08/06 to change.
Current Position
So much for my predictions.
In the last hour AISfree updated and now shows Tarifa has departed the docks and is back out in the Cristobal Anchorages area, still showing movement. Will be watching to see if she anchors.

My colleagues think I'm nuts over this car. Everytime I mention it without actually saying what it is, someone asks me if I'm pregnant. WRONG!
This waiting makes me want to jump out of my skin. It was almost better when it was in the middle of the ocean and no info was coming in.
