That depends on when it is finished and where it is going. The earliest one will probably leave Southampton would be Friday, well, maybe Thursday if you're extremely lucky.

I'm curious how buyer's are doing with pricing. This being a revised model year, how close were you to MSRP if not over as the 2008's are going to be available in four months or so?

Received a Production Completion Date of July 14 and a VIN # after calling ASK MINI earlier today.

I asked the person at Ask MINI if there's a way to find out which port my dealer uses and she didn't know. I live in Kansas... I wonder if that's New Jersey or Charleston. I certainly hope it's not LA. Maybe I'll call my dealer...

Rarely will you get any "deals". You should count on paying MSRP.

Congrats if you managed to pay less than MSRP.

I checked the four dealers in this area and with the demand, they have no reason to give a discount. From what I have learned lately, all of the four have recently quit doing a mark up on the MSRP.

I followed a lot of tips that are on those web sites I listed. I visted Baron BMW/MINI and saw they had dozens and dozens of MINIS on their lots, which is good for us, bad for them (it means they're not moving much product).

The dealership closes at 7pm, and dealership sales tend to slump during the middle of the week, so I went on Thursday. I showed up at about 6:20pm and told him I wanted to make a deal before they closed. After a thirty minute test drive (*grins*) we sat down and looked to see if there was a MINI on their lot that fit my option list (in sig). I wanted exactly what was listed, no more, no less.

After going down the Edmunds sheet with their cost (invoice/wholesale) I turned it around on him (eventually I was talking directly with the sales manager); usually a dealer will start at MSRP and you have to work them down. I told him his cost from the factory and asked him how much profit he wanted to make on the sale and asked him what he thought was a fair profit.

Worked like a charm (I didn't think it would!)!

Of the four dealers here, I had a choice of maybe 6 Cooper S's total.

Mini of Dallas actually had about 40 MINIs when I was there, about 15 or so S models. Actually had one I wanted but the wife talked me into ordering one. The one I almost bought was a PW/B with the JCW aero kit and Premium package and sport stripes. Unfortunately it had the cheezy checkered interior and the s-winders which I don't like. I took the 3,000 they charge for the JCW kit and got some nice other options.

I got the info online and decided to talk to someone so I called Ask Mini and the rep told me she didn't have any more information than the automated system. But, I'm not slated to be finished until the 13th, so it might still be waiting to hit the assembly line, so there might not have been much more information.

So I think this is where I belong...I ordered my MINI 06.28.07, and it entered the body shop on 07.05.07. Ask Mini says its due on 07.11.07--which means hopefully the stars will align to get it here by the time I have to start back to school! (I teach...)

Hi! I posted over in the other forum (1st gear under general minis), but I guess I will join here too. I have a Chili Red Mini Convertible thats supposed to be finished production on 7/11. I ordered it on 7/1.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get from the factory to the port? What route does it normal take if the end destination is CA?

If you check in 1st Gear you will find "How To Track Your Mini", good place to start.

All of the Mini's going to the west coast go by way of the Panama Canal and time is an average 21 days. If the schedule does not change, the next Wallenius ship will be the TARIFA, leaving South Hampton on 7/17 and arriving at Port Hueneme (Oxnard,CA) on 8/6

So you could make the next sailing, and we could be on the same ship. I ordered from EastBay Mini, where did you ordeer from ?
