GAAAH! MINI arrival forecast imprecision!

MA just called me out of the blue to say my Mini's in, when the conservative forecast was supposed to be Saturday the 23rd, if I was lucky.

This causes me great pain, because I can't go get it until I move some money around, which will take several days!! If I'd had an inkling that they'd be that far off on the early side, I would have gotten my finances ready more in advance.. I know it's been said before, but that online status updater is really rather lousy. It's been enormously behind the whole time. I would have thought the dealership themselves would have been kept better updated, but apparently not, since the MA seemed plenty surprised herself.

It's even worse knowing it is sitting there waiting for me than it was waiting for it to get to the dealer.

At least I more-or-less know there won't be any chance unwelcome happenings delaying my pickup at the expected time, now.

I've elected not to pay Scottdale MINI to put in floormats or tint it, because those both seem overpriced ($100 for floormats, $275 for tint), and they said they could add either one any time for me. I'll probably get floormats online -- but does anyone recommend a good, relatively inexpensive tint shop that does well with MINIs in the Phoenix metro area? I've searched through other posts, but no one has mentioned any specific location.

Ah, this is just part of the normal initiation rite for MINI owners. To survive with the bulk of your sanity intact just would not give you the full MINI experience. Glad your MINI arrived safe and sound....soon...very soon...it will be all yours!!!

Not all of us suffer from the same problems! My MINI was forcasted for the 13th, then updated to the 17th. Fishing trip will make it the 21st at the earliest.

Yeah, I agree that the other direction is worse.

You can visit it every day, and check your tran$fers a hundred times a day. Oh the suspense...

Have you seen it? How's it look?

No, I haven't seen it yet.. but I am honestly tempted to visit it, like you said, which really is completely ridiculous, when you think about it. Especially since the dealership's not exactly a casual 5-minute jaunt away.

Now repeatedly and obsessively checking my tran$fers a hundred times a day... that I can and will do.

When are you expecting yours?

Actually I'm going a different route than I thought and doesn't look like I'll be ordering after all (something unexpected occured just this week). Visiting it Monday if all goes well, then if all is ok, maybe pick it up a week after that. I'll post some pics if/when I get it home. It's been a LONG obsession, right on the verge, so peering in to the void is really queasy feeling. Hate to jinx it...

So I can kinda guess how you guys that order feel, just a little different road for me.

You really should treat yourself. Go visit even if it is silly. Would have to be fun, no? Maybe have an ice cream after, just have a fun little jaunt!

Oh... the week difference between seeing it, and hopefully getting it is EXACTLY the same problem... moving $ around. So that part I understand

It is always better to call the 866-ask-mini phone number when tracking your car. Usually the info you get on the phone is at the worst 2 days off. The web site info can be a week or more off.

To me BOTH the website and the phone number are off! This whole tracking bit has been a big let down once production was completed I must say. My car should arrive at the dealer today yet online its saying I am still at the VDC and via phone I am at the dock awaiting a shipping vessel. What started out as a fun adventure has been more of an anxiety provoker than anything. At any rate, hoping I will be able to take delivery Thursday. That is if all goes as planned. Glad to hear your car arrived safe and sound! And for the record, I'm thinking of going visiting mine as well! DO IT.......you won't regret it!
