R56 MADAME BUTTERFLY June 2007 Transit
Littletimmy sorry i got your pm and can read it via email but i can not look at it on the site and reply. I was out of the office for two days but i did talk to Michael and he said he spoke with you and gave you the insurance information... i guess i will see you when you come in and then we will get you out motoring in your new MINI... SO EXCITING!
Maybe I'll see you there.
I just talked to my MA at Rasmussen MINI and look like my car should be in Portland on the 9th. However I do have a couple of options that need installing still. So sometime late nextweek (fingers crossed) I should have her
I saw Amanda while I was there and she mentioned that you were. Congratulations and I'm sure you're just as excited as I was (and still am!)
to: pareto
pareto,
Where in Seattle are you from?
I was raised near the area and lived on Capitol Hill for four years. Worked at the Space Needle for three of them back in 1999. Tell me you've been to the B&O recently to have a coffee and pastry...
I am also taking the same road trip in Sept.! Maybe you could find some stops along the way and relay them to the forum? I know of a few places that I want to hit (some off the path, but worth a look) the Winchester Mystery House (http://www.winchestermysteryhouse.com/) and Hearst Castle. (http://www.hearstcastle.com/) as well as other places.
• Once all of us pick up our cars, perhaps we could turn this forum into a "where did you drive this weekend" tips and locations thing?
I know it would be fun and useful to me.. What do you guys think?

Finally!
I picked up my MINI from South Bay MINI yesterday.

I'm very impressed with the car so far. I engaged in a little break-in motoring this morning.
More in this thread, https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=106637 , and more pics in my gallery.

Thanks, everyone!
It seems a big factor in the transport from VDC to dealership is the *luck of the truck*. My MA thought that my earlier misordered car and the one I picked up yesterday arrived at dealer a day apart even though they came in on different ships a week apart. It depends on how the trucks get loaded. Sometimes all the cars on a truck go to the same dealership and sometimes they are split between dealerships.
Good luck, Greg1059. I hope you and others still waiting get their delivery as soon as possible.

Thanks again for the updates as I've been using your progress to help determine what my wait will end up being.
Hey SimpsonGI...
Well it arrived at Rasmussen's on the 10th
My MA thinks it will be next week when I can pick her up.
They are putting the finishing touches on her... *secret addon*, Xpel and Nuvi cradle.
Ugh...this waiting is killing me

*Telling myself*....soon...very very soon.

Thanks for the update! It took 10 days then from the time it reached the VDC until it made it to Portland.
Aye, I'd be chompin' at the bit knowing it is there but you can't pick it up yet. :impatient

The wait is almost over!
Well after months of waiting for her to be built and finally get to the dealership... And I'm pretty sure most of the peeps who were on the same voyage as me have already took delievery of their MINI...My MA got a hold of me today to tell me the greatest news ever! I get to go pick her up tomorrow from Rasmussen MINI!

Long story as to why it took longer to get her than the rest of you...part of it was the *secret addon* of which I will share in pictures.
Today she is getting her Xpel put on and she'll be all set for tomorrow!
I'll be sure to get loads of pics and post them up! OH MAN....I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! I've been Shocked n Awe'd
