lttletimmy,
That sounds a *little* optimistic. I'm not sure the VDC can turn around a car that fast and deliver it to the dealer. I hope it's true. Which dealer did you buy from?

I'd be really happy if I could get my car that early. Then I'd have more time to break it in over varied driving conditions before I have to leave on longish road trip.

Congrats! Looks like you'll be out motoring before some of us.

I bought from South Bay mini. My MA seemed pretty sure of the time, and had the june 30th arrival at port in his records. I also don't have anything to be installed at the VDC, but I suppose we'll see. At any rate, it looks like I'll be motoring next week so that's good news to me

Well then, that's good news to me too. I bought from the same dealership.

Damn you Rover
I got a little bit to wait as it needs to be trucked up to Oregon and I think VDC has a couple items to install still too.

I found out from another thread that one can use the aislive site to track ships near ports by typing in the area name in the URL. I was able to get close to the Port Hueneme area but can't guess the correct URL for that. I need help! The following URL shows what is in the general Los Angeles area.

http://aisfree.aislive.com/influx.as...les%20Overview

If anyone has a guess as to what the URL would need to be to show a closeup of the red rectangle which in this view contains the MARIA OLDENDORFF, that would make very happy.

If the above URL doesn't work, try:

http://aisfree.aislive.com/image.asp...les%20Overview

Aargh! I just realized that since these are dynamic, the MARIA OLDENDORFF probably won't be there for very long. I'm looking for a way to enlarge the red rectangle at the right midway between top and bottom.

Rover - you probably know that you can get this view as well: http://aisfree.aislive.com/influx.as...ego%20Overview

I tried many different combos to try and isolate the Port Hueneme area, to no avail. We're heading to the beach for the weekend, no Internet. If you happen to catch MB on the AIS maps, can you or one of our shipmates post a screen shot of her steaming towards PH?

That would be cool.

Thanks

The MADAME BUTTERFLY just showed up a little south of San Diego.

Look at the bottom right of the image. Port Hueneme is just below the "A" in "ADVENTURE".

SEAL6, I'm very interested to find out how long it takes your Mini to get from the VDC to Rasmussen. Will you post how long the transit time ends up being?

My MCSa is due to arrive in Port Hueneme on July 30th (it is leaving Southhampton on the Isolde on Monday). So I am very curious to see how long the trucking portion of the trip will take.

Thanks!

It's probably too late for that. MADAME BUTTERFLY is only about 50 miles from Port Hueneme.

It's going to pull in LATE tonight. MB is a slow ship--and I'm sure that has nothing to do with the fact that there are over 300 Minis onboard trying to get to their new owners.

looks like the MB is no longer on aislive.com. if she's not parked, she's awful close by this point.

Los Angeles, UNIVERSAL Studios MINI!

Hi! did anyone on this forum go to the MINI of Universal City "VIP Customer Appreciation Event"? If not. Check out the pics! We got to drive the following around the back lot!
• COOPER S (Manual/Auto)
• COOPER (Manual/Auto)
• COOPER S Convertalbe (Auto only )
• COOPER Convertalbe (Auto only )

We then got a bit of a crash course in safty features, differences from the 02-06 vs. the 07s. A bit of food and a care package and we were off. It sucked because I had to get back into my Nissan 200SX after 4 hours of driving a crap load of coopers! AHH!! Oh well.

hope you enjoy the pics!

No evidence of taking cars off the ship yet... Maybe the VDC is closed on Sundays and they don't want to store the cars at the port but take them directly to the VDC.

Gotta wonder about the 4th of July holiday too. May be in for a couple more days wait since they probably pushed as much out as they could before the end of the month. It's all about quotas.

i noticed that too. the voyage page now once again shows the MB leaving on July 2. maybe it's a customs or a port worker thing?

Almost... It seems like our MINIs are a little reluctant to leave the ship
