R56 MADAME BUTTERFLY June 2007 Transit
Just want to add my name to the lucky ones who made it on the Madame Butterfly.
Thanks for posting how to find out if you are own board.

If you are referring to the sailwx.info site, yes. I think the MADAME BUTTERFLY doesn't broadcast the weather reports so we are out of luck as far as tracking. Probably, the next evidence we'll get of its position is when the WW site schedule updates that it arrived in Manzanillo, Panama or someone sees it on the Panama Canal webcams.
If you mean www.sailwx.info, I don't think the "Butterfly"s call sign of 9VHF is registered with them to allow for tracking. That's my guess based on someone earlier seeing go out of Southampton on that website. I think we're blind til next Friday when it should show into Manzanillo.
For us Butterflying across the pond. Take a look at how well our Port Hueneme dock workers do offloading from our ship. Please don't screw up on our cargo! http://www.cargolaw.com/2007nightmare_crane-yacht.html

I'm sure that they'll handle the cargo of the Manon much better.
Okay...apparently, I'm still jealous that I didn't make the ship.
I know OL runs behind by a few days but it still shows my car as "awaiting transport". If its still that way tomorrow, it will officially be one week behind. Has anyone on the MADAME BUTTERFLY moved on to "en route" in the OL?
Sometime Thursday we should be floating through the canal. I estimate this since Manzanillo is 150 miles from Panama City up the west coast from the canal. If you're interested you might see Madame Butterfly go through the Miraflores locks at: http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html
It looks like the camera takes a shot every 10 seconds. Can't find an archive or time lapse of the days activity, but if you're lucky and see the stately (if somewhat beaten up) Madame "motor" through, let us all know to share in the countdown to delivery.
The Miraflores locks are the last set of locks before hitting the Pacific near Panama City.
So check it out throughout the day, who knows one of us might get lucky.

It seems like there is maintenance work from June 13 - 22, 2007. If you read where it says "7 days", it says something about delays of 72 - 96 hours and if you search for Madame Butterfly on that page it shows an arrival date and a transit. I hope this isn't what it appears and there is smooth sailing through the canal.
I noticed on one of the links posted on another thread that there could be delays at the Panama Canal. I certainly hope not but I've not been able to understand everything on this page.

I guess we just have to wait and see when the WW site gets updated or your Boyd site does this weekend. WW will show into and out of Manzanillo, Boyd won't show the MB anymore since I don't see any indication of ships that have completed transit.
Keep fingers crossed for a quick transit.
The delay happened to the Maersk Wind, but may not be related to Canal delays. Transitted 6/15, then sat there for 36+ hrs before resuming voyage. To make things a little more confusing, WW has the ship in port on the 23rd and my MA at Rasmussen has it in on the 27th. Original schedule was for a 25th arrival.
I think the moral is.........who knows when it'll get here?
Cheers

Hiya!
I (like you) was searching out ways to track that ship we've all become so attached to "The Madame Butterfly". For a second there I thought I was going crazy
, but as it turns out- I'm not alone! Hello all! I am on the same ship as well! I've even pulled up google earth to figure out the mileage from Southhampton to Oxnard CA. It's somewhere in the realm of 9,148-ish. If you zoom in on the shipping yard in the UK you can see a crap load of MINIs waiting to get onto a ship (from a while ago, of course).
I'm just glad to know you guys are geeking out as much as I am!
Cheers!
