I picked up my new Cooper S yesterday and drove it home. The car handled so smoothly and quietly. When I looked over at the speedometer, I realized I was going 75 in a 45 mph speed limit. SCARY . I honestly thought I was only going 45. I think I'm in trouble until I can adjust. It's a good thing no cops were around. Anyone else exprience something similar?
If it happens often, may be a good idea to switch your display in the tach to show MPH. Also (I'm not sure if this is on all MINIs) you can set a max speed and a warning will tell you if you hit that speed.
Be careful! Pretty soon you'll be going down the dark path and doing wicked things like taking the tags off the mattresses and having that second cupajoe in the morning!
Actually, I think this happens a lot...the R56 MCS is quick, smooth, and stable. Deceptively so. So now that you both have gotten the introductions out of the way, you can explore ways of managing that beast!!!
I'm almost into week 3 of ownership and haven't yet gotten a ticket, though there were several times where I would have been quite deserving. I'm finally getting a feel for it and have not been inadvertently speeding nearly so much lately.
