Moritz in Arlington.

It's rained every day since I picked him up - finally gave him a bath last night just to discover some paint issues. :( Need to search on some claybar info...

some of you may have seen this post, but i figured i'd share my news with those outside of the manon...

i got a call today fr my MA. he said my mini got to the dealership today however they still have to put this permaplate thing on it and then i can take it home. he offered me the option to take it home today, but i would have to bring it back monday early afternoon, and then pick it up later that afternoon, since their service dept closes at 5p and they don't work weekends. anyways... my hubby thought it would be a hassle for us to be going back and forth to the dealer so i have to wait until monday. dam... so close... it's just right there!!! i asked my MA if i can stop by tonight to check my mini out, but he said its in the service dept waiting in line...

kinda makes me worried that if i need to take it for a checkup, i only have business hours to take it in... does anyone else have service depts that are open on weekends?

Congrats, almost!! Hang in there.... it's worth the wait!! Minibird is just shy of 1000 miles already. AT 1201 miles, he's going for little "ride" down the highway to see what he's all about!!

Most dealers have some limited weekend hours, ussually only booked in advance. BUT I always thought that was retarded!! MOST of us work during the day, need our cars to get there.... So they end up having to give us loaners... swap cars, we end up fighting to make it there early in morning to drop it off before work, and rush to pick it up before the service dept close to get the keys.... JUST STUPID.

If I had a dealership, my service dept would be open (at least the desk anyway) 5pm to 9 or 10pm, 5 days a week, and noon to 5 on Saturdays to SERVICE the customers. I tell ya, they would be booked solid ALL the time, just because of their hours. They could make a fortune. Never understood that. But the same goes for Post offices, and Banks. How is a workin man like myself 'posed to get to a bank between 9 and 3???

Anywhooooozle. Good luck. I want to see some more week 24's already!!

It's here!

Even more fun to drive than I imagined! I saw two other minis on my way home from the dealership---got a wave from one and a flash of the lights from the other!

my hubby was teasing me last night saying that he was going to take it the first week away fr me so he can test it out. and then he said "you can watch me drive it!" that wasn't nice since we leave for our vacation in less than 2 weeks!!! no way jose!!! he'll have to wait until we get back i've been waiting almost 3 whole months for this occasion...

Congrats to you Mickie. He/she/it's a beauty. Man, it took me one week to get my first wave and two days later a flash of the lights. Enjoy!

Max is here!

OK, Finally, after two orders and lots of WW Ship Tracking, Max is here! Picked him up last night....

First impressions: Fun to drive ! (even under 4500/100mph)... Lots of gadgets. rides nice (limited miles) even with Sport Susp and RunFlats... Lots of programming to do do. (3 flash blinkers, NAV).

Nav ah, well, it isn't quite super intuitive, but Max has only been home 12 hours!

Woo Woo! Let's Motor!

Don't let us down now Max, pictures before the 1200 or I will have to drive scooter out to your place with my Nikon. I even checked your gallery, you have had your MINI for what (30 hours more or less).

I do hope you enjoy Max, it has been a long wait for both of you.

One thing, I'm still busy driving and have not changed any of the presets from the factory, guess that is why my doors don't autolock when I hit 15mph. :impatient

Enjoy and drive safe all of you Week 24 production owners.

Max, it is so great to finally hear you have your MINI! Looking forward to the pictures...
I've been going through withdrawal--had to leave the Mini at home while on a work-related trip to Colorado. It was so tough to drive a rental car in the mountains and imagine what it would be like with my baby! (and she is a she, definitely not an it, but she hasn't decided on her name yet).

Don, Thanks! Yes, pics before 1200 mi! OK, I did spend time programming Max... That auto-lock and 3-blink signals sure are nice!

Mickie, Thanks as well, and I think I understand... The mini sure does have a personality, to say the least... the responsiveness is incredible. No, a rental car does NOT come close. Hurry home to your baby!

Max, I am truly happy for you. You have certainly paid your waiting dues for this car. Have fun programming, playing with the gadgets, etc., you've earned it.

Thanks Phil.... Getting more used to it. NAV isn't sooooo perplexing. Voice is a little iffy, I think I may need to make a cheat-sheet card or something...

Phone is coming along. My E815 paired fine. And it actually did show it's address book once connected, and I can voice dial from the book that is on the phone. Albiet the pronounciation is whacked! I also had to get used to pushing the voice button and saying "telephone" to access the phone, rather than pushing the button with the phone on it. I haven't gotten to that part of the manual (yes, I'm reading it), but best I can tell that button just hangs up the phone! But phone/bluetooth is working with the E815...

So far, so good... what a blast to drive!

Yeah, yeah, too busy programming the car and driving it!

You may have to send one of your 'associates' to get those pics!
