"Smudge" Ep six the saga begins

Once apon a time in a galaxy far far away, sorry sorry Mini dealership (Mini of the Mainline), a mini was concieved. This was not your usual mini oh no, this was a very special mini. British Racing Green in colour, with a black roof and stripes, lots of chrome and shiny 17" wheels .
So I hand over the dosh(money), and think to myself " well that was easy". A few days later I recieve my production number, and after making a slight change (Hi-Fi), I sit back and relax, safe in the knowledge that the wait will be short and painless .
How wrong could I be. After waiting for what seemed to be an eternity (1 week), I am told "scheduled for production with no production date set". I wonder what that means I think to myself, and speak to a live? person at ask mini. The first person thinks it might be becouse of the HD option, but don't worry. Don't worry!!!!!!!!!!!!!, does this person not realize that this is my baby wer'e talking about. So I call back the next day, and this time I'm told the first week in June, which relieves me somewhat.
So I figure out that this is Production week 23, and subscribe to that thread, and make plans. Which outfit, what music, where to go on my first drive etc. And then tradegy strikes, I make my daily call, and the lady says oh I don't know when it will be built, but keep checking, and is there anything else I can help you with. Arggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggh. Thank heavens for the "Skuzzy school of whining". It saved my sanity. Instead of looking for someone to disembowl, I sat down, drank some warm beer, and let the words flow. Thank you skuzzy, I am now at peace with the world, or at least until the next phone call, which will be this morning as they don't work weekends at ask mini. More to follow:impatient

Called ask mini this am 05/21, and the nice lady said week 23 production, methinks the previous operator is an idiot

Indeed that was a good whine! Congratulations on finally getting a production date. I showed my husband your post because I found it amusing. My husband is an ex-pat too and one of our cats is called Smudge!

No, really you should be glad!!! See, she was an operative of the SSW (Skuzzy School of Whine) specially trained to detect and assist future MINI owners who they feel might run the risk of self-imploding prior to delivery. The information you were given was actually meant to direct you toward the resources and expertise the School provides. Thankfully she succeeded before it was too late!!

short and painlesss....SHORT AND PAINLESS....HA HA HA HA...Are you kidding me, what a harsh reality. Heck, I suspect doing jail time is easier than waiting 4 months for my mini. I live in Portland, micro brew capital of the world...or so I'm told. I like my beer cold. I'm going to need it.
