R55 remote key is not working

Hello
I drive Mini s clubman 2008.
Have a problem with my key fob.
Remote key is not working well, so I cannot open the car using remote controll.
I recharged the battery already, but it is still not working.
I would appreciate if anyone tell me how to register or reset the key.
There are no articles about it for 2nd generation...
Plz help me !

There isnt a way to reset the key without taking it to a dealer. It most likely will need to have the key replaced.

You recharged the battery in the radio remote fob ?! How'd you do that ?

If you have comfort access, the battery in the key fob is replaceable.

If you have a second key and that also doesn't work, may want to have the receiver for the key fob checked. It's part of the rear view mirror. Those have issues too and good to check before shelling out $200 for new key...

Thank yor for your reply.
I wrote wrong, I went to service center and have the battery of key changed, didnt recharge by my self.
Anyway, could you plz let me know where I can find the receiver exactly? I already saw inside of rear view mirror, I could see several wires only.
Maybe I dont know well exact place where the receiver is installed.
I am very embarrassed to ask, but I would appreciate if you plz see me photo or drawing where it is...;;

Unfortunately it is built into the mirror. If new battery in Radio Remote fob and still not working, replacement of the mirror assembly is probably the solution.

Dear
Thank you for your kind reply.
Plz reply me one more time.
Inside the room mirror, I can see the green colored small chip in the middle of the lower side. I think it must be ECU, if I change this, it will work?
I would appreciate it if you answer me.
Thanks in advance.

Unsure as to what component in the circuit board that fails.

If both key fobs are in working condition and both began to stop working at same time, would indicated rear view mirror replacement is probable cause.

GL!

key fob fix

I had the same problem. Remove the rearview mirror, remove the circuit board, and with a soft bristled tooth brush, clean the contacts. This worked for me with no problems since. For me it was minimal corrosion where the chip meets the board.
