R55 Springs for my R55

Springs for my R55
Posted this in modification area, but not much luck with answers or help. So I though all the fellow clubman owners can help.
I'm getting ready to order springs for my R55 Clubman.
I'm NOT doing coil overs...
I don't track the car
NOT my daily driver
I drive it 4-6000 miles a year
I drive it on spirited club runs.
If my OEM shocks go out...Konis will be replacing them
I am thinking of the Eibach's 1.2 front and .9 rear
The rear of the clubman is .25" lower from top of tire to the bottom of the fender compared to the front. So, a staggered type setup like this will even the ride height out.
I am ordering Hotchkis rear control arms and pre cut bump stops from Waymotorworks. This will get my street alignment back in line and keep me from cutting the OEM bump stops.
Question is...
Eibachs, what are the thoughts on them? I see good reviews across many car brands. German made and seem to have a good reputation.

- H&R is just too low at 1.4" front and rear
- NM has discontinued the R55 spring 1.2" front and rear. (Getting hard to find)
- TSW is an option, but not low enough...1 front and .75 back

Whatever you select, make sure they are designed for the R55/R57 cars. Our Clubmen have different spring rates (in addition to the ride height).
I ran into the same issue, was going to order NM springs and found they were recently discontinued. The Eibach sounds like a similar setup. What shocks are you planning? Koni sport? OEM?

Have you had any response to the eibach springs? They seem to be a good option 1.2 front and .9 rear drop. I don't want the squat in the rear of the clubman. It is already .25" lower on stock ride height.

I am going to stay with OEM shocks for now. It's NOT a daily driver and not tracked. I drive it 4-6k per year.
If and when I change the shocks, I will do Konis.

I'm leaning towards coilovers now. Want to stay in the 800-1000 range...already spent 350-400 on rear control arms and front end links.
Thinking one of the below...
ST (good price, seems to be good quality, NO damping ability)
Megan Euro streets (good price, damping ability, front camber plates, all mounting hardware so there is no swap over of parts.)
Vmaxx(ruled out, too low and worried about durability)
Any thoughts would be great. Pulling the trigger this weekend.

There are also Forge Coilovers with front camber plates. But they might be above your budget,
I will be doing the Forge ones on the R58 JCW soon.

It is ironic that your post is at the top of the R55 string... I am cleaning out my garage today and I just signed on to NAM for the first time in about 2.5 years to post a set of Eibach springs in the classifieds.
I'm a big fan of the Eibachs after trying a couple different setups on my 2010 Clubman JCW. I first ran the H&R cup kit for about a year since it came on the car when I bought it. The H&R setup was really low, looked cool and had a slight forward tilt but I needed more clearance for driving in-town Houston and the ride was too harsh for me. I then changed springs to the Eibach Pro-Kit and was much happier overall. There was a noticeable improvement in the ride and clearance and I was still really happy with the low look.
That said, I sold my 2010 Clubman JCW about 2.5 years ago with the stock springs on it even-though I was previously driving it lowered. I changed it back to stock height before selling it because advertising it lowered seemed to be narrowing my pool of potential buyers.
If you are interested in buying my Eibach Pro-Kit springs please PM me. I bought them new from Tire-Rack and only ran them for about a year.

I also just purchased the Eibach Pro-Plus kit for a great deal. I liked the ride height as I use my car as a daily driver in a big city with occasional spirited runs through the mountains. I liked the fact that it was designed to work in concert and was a complete kit: sway bars front and back + springs. Looking forward to installing once I get a new water pump drive pulley and positive battery cable installed.

Post up your pics after install.

Still to do: Front sway bar (Eibach), Front lower arm rear bushing (Powerflex) and rear trailing arm front bushing (Powerflex). Not shown but previously installed: Alta diverter valve spring upgrade and AEM ram air. Once I'm done with these I'm debating either an exhaust upgrade or an intercooler upgrade next.

The install of the rear sway bar and all 4 springs took me about 7.5 hours in my garage working alone. I rented the strut spring compressors from Autozone. It was labor intensive but very achievable. I have to give a shout out to NM engineering as their install sheet for their rear sway bar was very informative. One challenge was finding the torque specifications for all the different bolts. I used 47ft/lbs for the strut top nut, 43ft/lbs for all the strut to body connections, 60ft/lbs for the knuckle to front strut bolt and 22ft/lbs for the control arm connections. Sorry I didn't take pictures during the process but it was very dirty!

Also, I want to give a review of the ride quality. I'm very impressed; it is exactly what I had hoped for. The ride is comparably compliant to the stock springs but definitely flattens the cornering and reduces the fore/aft movement of the car during shifts. I suspect the front sway bar won't make too much of a difference to the handling but I reserve judgement until it is in along with the new bushings.

Hey HoudiB, your Clubman looks nice lowered. Installing a larger front sway bar will slow your steering response somewhat. After installing it you'll probably want to put your rear sway bar on a stiffer setting. I have the Eibach 20mm rear and 26mm front sway bars in my R55. The front has no adjustment. The rear has 2 adjustment holes. I do like how it handles flatter now and the front end still pushes a little even with the rear on the stiffest setting, which I like for safety.

Wow looks good, they R55 lowered in general look better as its a longer MINI and gives it a even lower look.
