Love the Pure Burgundy color. I'd so be doing that if I was getting a clubby.

I don't like the 4 doors. It is just not a Clubman with 4 doors...

Clubman future

I agree. This is not our clubman. That said, it is a great looking car. Great attention to detail and the interior design presents a very "grown-up" look. I am unlikely to purchase the new one, but I certainly respect what has been done. I think it will likely sell well.

I also think that the biggest gain for BMW/MINI is that this car is clearly very different from the hardtop (2 or 4 door). Smart move on their part, I believe. Reaching a different audience with a car that is still looks quite unique.

does not anyone know the diff between 4 door and 2 door ? 4 doors are family cars , 2 doors are sport/cool cars , sorry 4 door folks but that is just the way it is, and 2.5 doors is still cool. The clubman is now every other family car.

I'm so bummed. I was going to be a MINI guy for a long time, now they ruined it for me.

Just curious, having not driven it, and not knowing what MINI may or may not have in store for a JCW or how the F54 handles its weight, how are you basing your assumption?

My world has a fair amount of room for gray. I happen to think the Porsha Panamera is a pretty cool car. While not my style, many would argue that the Dodge Charger Hellcat is definitely sporty.

Having put quite a few miles on an F55, it does leave the R55 behind in just about every performance category since it sounds like you bought your R55 for performance with a little bit of added utility. And that's just the 4 door hardtop. I love my R55 to death and probably won't sell it, but that doesn't mean I can't like what MINI does with its future models. There's been a lot of hating towards the 3rd gen so far. What did everyone think MINI was going to do? Go back to supercharging cars? Take an R56 and make it more agile? That's not evolving, that's falling behind. Once they get the current kinks out, they will have very mechanically sound vehicle.

FYI. The Hellcat is a two door, but I do agree that a 4dr can be sporty.

Follow the money. It was inevitable that the new Clubman would be 4-door.

MINI USA's top selling models are now the Countryman and the 4-door hardtop. 2-door models have fallen to just 36% of overall sales, and will continue to drop.

Wonder what the sticker will be? Looks very pricey. Will be keeping my 2009 S for now. If I ever do switch out it may be for the Ford Focus ST or RS. I can't believe we are still at 190 hp for the S models. The focus ST is at 250hp and the RS at 350hp.

The Challenger Hellcat is the 2 door and the Charger Hellcat is the 4 door. And yes, it's quick. Had a hard time keeping up with one when I was at max boost/full throttle in my Evo at 120. Pulled away like I was standing still.

I agree. Also typically 2-door models have more room in front than 4 door models. Also someone commented about the Porsche Panamera... Porsche enthusiasts hate it... I m sure there is a market for it but that doesn't mean it's a nice design. It will never hold its value as much as a 911, it will never be such an iconic design. Same for the few Ferrari 4 seat models (ie. Mondial) they are the cheapest around when arguably similar two sweaters sell used for lots more. That's my two cents.

Probably early fall. Or when the car reviewers start to get their hands on them. That way they have something to talk about other than the dimensions. Dealers should start to see their not for sale yet demos the last few weeks of the year from what I've heard.

Still not a fan of the internet pics. Mini we'll have my attention if or when they build a JCW version.

2.5 door vs 4 doors

We went to the auto show to see the 4 door sedan in anticipation of the new clubman. Looked good, but then I tried to get into the driver's seat. Of course, the person before me must have been 5'2", because the seat was so close to the steering wheel. After pushing the seat back, I still found if very uncomfortable trying to get in and out with the B-pillar where it is. I'm 6'1" and it is so easy getting in and out of our 09 clubman. I had a Countryman loaner for a couple days, and the doors seemed wider (or the B-pillar was set back further). Does anyone know the door specs on the new Clubman vs the old?
