Inexpensize spare tire

I have a 2009 Clubman S with non-run flats. I need a spare tire and am wondering if there is an inexpensive solution. The spares for the Mini's are ridiculously priced. I've heard that other car manufactures spares might fit (ie Honda Civic). Can anyone offer some sound advice. By the way, I've checked local junk yards to no avail. Thank you.

4 x100 bolts are fairly common. That means 4 bolt pattern and from the top bolt to the bottom bolt (middles) is 100 mm. Some Chevy. Some Hondas. Some vw's. Can get a donut or a 15" real tire to fit in the boot tray. Scrap yard. Or Detroit tuned

Thank you for that info. It's crazy what they charge when you mention Mini.

We offer one that works and fits perfect. Have not found a good option from another car that fits right and is cheap.

Some don't hesitate to spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars for bling on their MINI. But if there is a thought of spending a few bucks on a new donut spare that's specific to MINI, heavy wincing commences. I was quickly convinced when I was stranded in the middle of nowhere, 103 degree heat, the potential four hour wait for roadside assistance and a kaput valve stem which no plug kit could ever fix. Once a protracted resoluton was achieved, I immediately purchased a spare from Way as a "never leave home without it" accessory and never experienced the slightest hint of a wince. This old voice of experience says it's most cost effective insurance one could find for such an event. Remember an ounce of prevention is worth more than a ton of cure.

I recently purchased the spare tire and WMW and DetroitTuned both are great options if you decide the junk yard is too much of a hassle.

Note: if you have the foam insert it will not fit inside the spare. There is a different foam insert that fits inside the spare. DT sells a full kit, or your can order that part later.

So does Way Motor Works, picked up the set from him at Mini's on the Dragon from him, fits perfect in the "boot" of my Clubman and as stated above it's a small price to pay for piece of mind!

I've driven for 40 years and I've never had to change a tire on a paved road (had to change a couple while off roading though). Most flats are slow leaks that are discovered as a flat when the car sits overnight and you notice it in the morning. Carrying a small air compressor and perhaps some tire plugs (and know how to use them) will work 99% of the time and it will get you to a shop so you can get the tire repaired.

It's when that 1% comes along and smacks you up along side the head. It definately got my undivided attention. In this scenario no plug kit or air compressor would fix this flat or stop the nagging. This was the first time in over fifty years that not having a spare could have placed us in a dire situation. Never again.
