Anybody have goodluck with their 08+ Clubman S w/over 100k?

Our 08 Clubman S is reaching 100k. We are having our timing chain inspected tommorrow before our warranty expires. I got to googling and read alot of horror stories on timing chain failures on our cars.
I'd love to hear it if anybody in our forum has over 100k and has had no major timing chain type issues with their car.

They also pulled our's in for a heat shield.
We traded our's in at 118. Bought a leftover 13 and love it.
We did have our timing chain changed early on under warranty.

I wonder if the non-turbo engines had less issues with timing chain?

The non-turbo engines appear to have much fewer issues with the timing chain, although there are a few threads out there from people who had to get their's replaced even on non-turbo models.

I am closing in at 60k on my 2012 S, I wonder if it would be a wise decision to change mine around this time? Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated!

It can't hurt to have it checked. From the reading I've done, not many threads on timing chain problems on the n18 engine.

I had mine changed at 127k. It was getting pretty noisy. All of the plastic guides were intact.

Just got a used 08 S with 106k miles, previous owner took very good care of it and replaced the the timing chain at 96k, recently took her to the dealer for normal maintenance and had an inspection done, and the service advisor said the car was in perfect condition.

I used to work at a BMW/MINI combined dealer before MINI went stand-alone so I have some decent contacts. They said they haven't had to do a N18 yet. Made me feel much better about my '11
