Easiest way to spot a JCW clubman when car shopping online?

So I've read so much about the differences between a factory JCW and a dealer installed JCW.

Of course all the JCW clubman's are 200 miles away. So I want to make sure I'm not going all that way for nothing.

Factory JCW appearance differences:
Red JCW calipers
Red numbers on shifter
JCW center cap on wheels
JCW on door sills
A checkered flag on the dash on the far right side

Anything else I can look for when examining pictures? Thanks for the help!

I think the biggest part is the Aero kit? Didn't all the JCW cars come with this?

Also,

JCW muffler tips, red stitching on shifter, handbrake, and steering wheel..?

I think the easiest way to tell a JCW is the black gauge faces.

Best way is to go to http://www.bmwarchive.org/. Input the last 7 digits of the VIN and it will give you build details.

If it is a factory JCW it will say so. If it was a kit installed at the dealer, then my understanding is it won't be listed on the factory sheet.

I don't recall the years for the clubman offering but BMW didn't take ownership of the JCW brand name until 2008. So on a R56 JCW the first "BMW" designed JCW was model year 2009 in the US.

Prior to that there were JCW kits that were dealer installed at first and then kits were factory installed. Again my comments are based on R56 hardtops not Clubbies as I never owned one.

That's weird. Here is the listing for the car. Maybe that will be easier.

My phone won't let me paste the link in the message so it's in the title. Appreciate the help!

No. The aero kit was an option.

Jcw exhaust tips are a sign of dealer installed kit. FJCW have no engraved tips.

Using the last 7 of the VIN, my '06 R53JCW with factory JCW Kit shows this under optional Equipment...

S3ALA JCW Kit

If it's factory installed, which I think it has been since '06, yours or the one you're looking at should show similar.
