Valve Stem ???

My 08 Clubman has had the Mini Logo Chrome Tire valve tems since I got it.
It has been about 1 mo since I checked the Air Pressure, so I attempted to remove the caps. All 4 caps were corroded onto the stem. Messed up the caps with pliers they were so corroded. Good news I got 3 off. Bad news when doing the last one the entire stem was twisting so I put a wrench to hold it. The Cap came off. Worse news....so did the top 2-3 threads of the stem.
Can the Stem be replaced as a separate item?
Is it part of the TPMS thing?
Anyone know a source and part number of what I would need?

No, I don't think it is a part of the TPMS thing.

You can get something similar at any parts store and have the tire shop remount the tires to put them on. As for the special Mini Logo ones, any Mini dealer probably stocks a set, but I have not noticed them on any of the Vendors that advertise on this forum ( but they probably do). Just put some copper anti-seize paste on the next ones, or resolve to check the pressure more often to keep them clean.

That's the part you want.

Any tire shop can install it without an issue.

You can also buy a valve repair tool and redo the threads.

I did find.....

I did find this: Wheel Valve Stem 36-14-6-792-830-M458
The one quoted on Ebay in above thread was not for my R55
But got me on the right track.
Looks like I will "Not" have to replace the TPMS. WhoooHooo!!
I found as low as $14 so I will buy one and take it to Tirebarn to install.
Thanks

In the future, do not use metal valve caps. They always seize to the aluminum valve stems.
The OEM caps are plastic.

Just so you know.. They are interchangeable. I've done this dealing with 2008 and 2011 type sensors. But yea, glad you'll get it sorted.

As noted, avoid the metal caps with TPMS units. TPMS units are very intolerant to corrosive metals

Thanks

Thanks for the advise about metal caps.....
I bought them from the Dealer, they said there would be no issues since they were Chrome coated Brass. But that isn't the case here is it.

Yea, live and learn. Sadly brass does not play well with the aluminum used with most TPMS units. Even the cores of them are designed to not corrode.. along with all the attaching hardware.

When I brought my wife's in MINI for tires the shop said only plastic caps. They said they seem many fused onto the TPMS valves.
