R55 '11 Clubman S w/HID but NO WASHERS?
'11 Clubman S w/HID but NO WASHERS?
Friend picked up a cherry '11 C'man S
a couple weeks back (had been a dealer exec vehicle apparently, never titled).
Later he discovered a conspicuous lack of headlamp washers despite their mention on the original sticker. HID headlights fitted, the washer bits are there but no hoses connecting them to (a?) pump of any kind.
Attached is a shot of his washer fluid tank: does this look like what should be there or is a second (headlamp washer) pump missing?
I traded my '07S off in December last year so I have nothing to look at myself....

This is what it should look like with 2 pumps.

OK, thanks for the info. I'll forward your comments on to my friend, maybe reinforce the idea he needs to become a forum member at the same time....
So the parts illustrated substitute for the normal fluid resevoir / pump components or are somehow installed in addition to them?

On another thread, I mentioned that it was an option on the 2011's and some all-knowing idiot who had not ordered one claimed otherwise. Trust me, it WAS an option. When I picked up my MINI from MINI of Charleston, the maintenance people were confused because it was the first one they had seen without the option. As the OP said above, most of the parts were there except for the hoses. As I attempted to tell the all-knowing one on the other thread, it's easier and cheaper for MINI to build only one version of things and then just not have them work if you don't pay for them and make the money up on those that do pay. Case in point, I didn't pay the money for/order the rear fog lights, however just recently, with only 5 minutes of computer work and a toggle, I now have functional rear fogs. No bulbs were needed as they were already there.
Anyway, you can go to this link and see the $100 option. Below is a screenshot of the 2011 MINI configure site:

I guess that with the addition of the missing parts, they could be made functional.
Hope that this helps.

I have the washers and i don't like them. They will sometimes get your nice clean car all water spotted because the water goes allover the hood as well as the lights, also when they spray it makes other cars think you're flashing them becuase when being sprayed the light beam gets disturbed. i'm considering pulling the fuse on mine. I would just rather wipe\squeegy them down at time of gassing her up.

When I built our 2011 on the MINI site it clearly shows the washer as an option with the HID's however mine came with HID's and although it has provisions for the headlight washers they're not functional either.
It's been a bit confusing with the washers...
For years the washers were standard with Xenons and MINI touted them as a standard feature. Then MINI made the washers optional but it seems that many MAs and SAs didn't get word of the transition.
When I ordered my R60 back in January our MA told us that the washers were optional but all the bits were there and not connected. We elected not to include the washers - yet when the car was delivered the washers were there and fully operational. No charge for them but they were listed on the spec sheet...

I thought is was mandated by law that if you have HIDs/xenons that you need both automatic leveling AND washers. If that is in fact true (maybe someone is more up to date with the laws) that's very bad that it is now only an option.
It is, just not in the US. Neither of those are required on an OEM car here in the states.
