Radio Choices
How is the quality of the standard 6 speaker radio in the Clubman. I had an '07 Hardtop, and back then everyone said the base radio was crap, and I spent several hours putting in better speakers. Mini was very kind back then fixing all the damage I did to the doors!
I don't need the best radio, just a decent one. Most of the time it's either NPR or the kids listening to pop channels.
Thanks.

I'd suggest you listen to one before you order or buy, if possible. I don't think the Clubman sound system is all that different from the hardtop system. Like the hardtop, it would probably benefit from the front-rear channel swap. If you're ordering, consider the H-K system. It's kinda spendy at $750, but definitely sounds better. If you're looking at an existing car with the base sound system, your upgrade options include an Alpine speaker system available from MINI, discussed in this thread: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...by-alpine.html
The other "drop in" upgrade, but not cheap, is offered by Integral Audio, reviewed in this thread: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...em-review.html
Integral Audio is a vendor here on NAM, and they put up a detailed comparison of MINI sound systems in this thread: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-upgrades.html

One of the primary KEYS to better sound in any car is having pillar-mounted tweeters (aligned with your ears). For your listening, that's probably it...
