Do want: Clubman "Woody" car cover

I just saw this for the first time today. Having always wanted a Morris Traveler, I do want this for my Clubman!

Yeah, but he wants a fair price for it... and even that's too high!

;-)

What was he asking for it and what were you hoping to pay for one??

I think he wants $150 ($280 list?). Not being gainfully employed at the moment, even half off is way too much for a novelty item (to me).

I guess you don't want one all that bad then.

Well, what I want (and I do) and what I need (and I don't) are items that have to be prioritized at the present time.

I just retired and I know how you feel - my wife wants to keep spending money like I'm still working.

Found a brand new one at a dealer for $100. Couldn't resist.

That looks pretty wild in that photo - kind of like my 10 year old son's fire truck tent.

Good find on the price.

Since about 1964, I've wanted a Morris Traveler (Minor or Mini), and that played a big part in my getting the Clubman (btw: BMW didn't get the rights to the Traveler name when then bought the Mini marque, hence the Clubman name).

I see that your other car next to your MINI also has a cover - is the garage full?

Sadly, yes. Need some big speakers or bicycles?

I hope you're placing UV protection, weatherproof rating, and life expectancy ahead of "wow, that's cute", when picking a car cover.

A good car cover typically costs about $275 and up for a MINI.

Not sure if that is a good cover but I have my doubts just looking at the fit and fabric. Of course, if you want to cover it while it's in a garage, then just tell me to STFU. and carry on.

STFU seems a bit harsh, so I'll just say, "Research is your friend."

Made by MINI... might be why the MSRP is so high. Or maybe it is every bit as good as... say a California Car King cover. Did you find any useful customer reviews?

Hope that one is as protective as it is cute because it is seriously cute!

They use that BMW platinum thread, obviously. Yeah, it's well made, thick, fairly heavy, and multi-layered, but missing grommets for securing it with a lock/cable.

My garage is full up - three cars, one truck, six motorcycles, three bicyles, a full size pool table, and much more. My wife would kill me if I tried to sneak in one more thing.

Having just a 2-car garage, I've owned a few car covers the past 6 years. Fist one was placed in the dumpster after a few months. Difference between a good one and poor one is enormous.

Sounds like this one should be pretty good. Hope so!
