Jerking when Brake

Last couple weeks, I started to experience jerking when breaking. Let say when I am at 30 mph and coming up to a stop sign or red light, break normally (not panic stop), when the car slow to about 10 or 5 mph, it will jerk once and than stop to a complete stop.

Car and break are not overheading and the computer still said I have plenty of brake left (both front and back).

I have automatic but I am sure it's not the downshifting "jerk" and there is no ABS or any light on the dashboard when this happen.

Any thought? I will call the dealer and make appointment but would like to know anyone experience something like this before.

Thanks

I think what you're experiencing is common to this auto transmission, mine does it too.

Do you have the sport button on? That makes the shifting even more abrupt.....

I am sure it's not the transmission since I never experience this for the last 3+ year of driving it...could it be any other cause?

Its the Transmission. It is the tranny dropping into first gear.

I drove it last night on the same local street and the jerking is gone (or very unnoticeable)...the "normal" transmission "jerk" is there but it's not the same as I describe on my OP...weird

Not sure if what you have is what I have on my pickup truck. It is intermittent. When coming to a normal slow stop it feels like the brakes are grabbing a little then letting loose then grabbing again. Almost feels like the rotor is warped or the pads are not worn smooth.

I have a Clubman as well and I've had four sets of front rotors replaced in the two years I've had the car. Sounds like you may need to have them replaced.

Happens all the time for me, except now I get the extra bonus of the engine reving itself at stoplights up to 3 grand with no check engine light on. I'm a lucky guy, I know . Ah the joys of owning a MINI. No really, I wouldn't drive anything different. (Spike will be spending some quality time with my two favorite MINI techs for the next week or two or three)

Now that's a weird one. Haven't heard anyone else having that issue.
Let us know what you find out.
Is the car auto or manual? Don't know if that'd make a diff.

Its an auto. But I'm not worried Dave and Luke will sort him out and everything will be hunky-dory soon enough.
