Did something naughty...

So as I was driving home on the freeway today, I saw something shiny hitting my eyes, looked into my rear view mirror and there was a Camaro flashing his lights at me. I guess that he wanted me to move over so he can pass, and that there was a car just right behind me to his right so he can't. But I'm not just driving slow because I'm breaking the car in, I'm driving slow because there was traffic in front of me. Trying to be the bigger man, I ignored it.

Sure enough, he kept doing it. I did something I wouldn't often do, I got mad, moved over, turned on sport mode and hit the accelerator and speed off. He moved over two lane, honked and tried to speed pass me. Now it's on. For the next 5 minute, he and I weave in and out of all the cars on the road trying to get ahead of each other. He was always behind me because I was so nimble and able to get into the lane before he does. Finally, I got him all the way to the right lane, aim for a narrow pass between two cars, got through, and left him stuck there.

What I did was incredibly stupid and dangerous, but my god I have never had anything that handles and response quite like this. I mean I know the COOPER S can, but I didn't know a stock S Clubman can as well. It's too bad I'm still breaking the car in, but if this is a foreshadowing of things to come, it seems like I'm gonna love this car! I just hope I didn't do anything too damaging to my Clubbie.

Side story, took Clubbie in to the dealer for her initial wash and detailing, the detailer kept messing it up and causing dark scuff marks and blemishes. Took them 3 tries and the Sales Manager to get it right. My god, it's just cleaning a car! :( Wasted 4 hours.

The worst part is gonna be trying to behave and keep your MPG's up...Best I can get through is half a tank before I tell myself "It's just one time..." and then my MPG's drop to the floor :'(

sometimes i feel like i'm the only MINI driver willing to go threw traffic on the highway like that. It is a lot of fun to do that. At the speed limit, OF COURSE.

If I may give you a suggestion? DON'T let the dealer wash and detail your car. They are not detail and cleaning specialists. They will do more harm than good to your paint.

On another note, I drove a new V6 Camaro about a week ago...what a pig, heavy, clumsy and lacked power. I'm sure the V8 SS would be better.

I was doing that yesterday with a electric blue lambo behind me. We were going inside and out of the traffic. When I got to my exit I pulled over and he honked on his way by. Never gets old!!

Coopers are the best. Last year a guy turned left in front of me from the middle lane of a 3 lane one way street. Had I been in a regular car, there would have been 2 seriously damaged cars and some injuries but thanks to the nimbleness of my MCS, things weren't nearly as tragic. Still getting use to the Clubman but finding its awesome too. And I love zipping around in traffic [safely of course]. When people ask the usual, "aren't you afraid of being in such a small car," I just laugh.

love this haha, and love zipping in and out of traffic too-safely of course Makes all those people who don't need to be driving SUV's jealous. Whenever I have someone on my tail though and I can't play cat and mouse, I'll usually flip my hazards on. I hate people riding my *** when they know there's nowhere for me to move.

That's a good one, I turn my blinker on sometimes and slow right down. If I'm alone in the car I just brake check. After riding and crashing motorbikes I'm not really afraid of getting bumped on the rear end

There's an intersection on my commute home where the right lane becomes a parking lane on the other side for southbound traffic. I was accelerating away from a stop at in the left lane, just across the intersection in 2nd, about to shift up, when I spotted some punk in a BMW blasting up on my right, planning to cut me off before the line of parked cars. Left it in 2nd and floored it, blasting up and foiling his plan. He had to slam on his brakes and pull in behind me. I managed to thwart his attempts to get in front of me for the next few minutes until he turned off, it was fun. My girlfriend was pissed.

Anyone who wants to (and can) go faster than me is welcome out front. I hate people who want to play grab ***. Nothing good can happen. Either they have the pedal, or they watch my mini get even more mini.

I had a big bad mustang put his powerful fog lights and running lights and brights on me from behind coming up on me, I pulled a Top gun move and broke just enough to get behind the car on my right and clear the next two lanes and took off in my Justa Clubby and poor mustang Sally was left in my jet wash, he couldn't maneuver quick enough and was stuck behind the car I was coming up on when he flashed me. Funny how his lights got dimmer as he got smaller in my rear view thinking back maybe he wanted to see my boot stripes better lol

You really don't have to be an idiot.

What I'm saying is that you do not have to drive stupid and take a chance on an accident or getting a ticket for speeding or reckless driving just because some idiot wants to pass you.

The best thing you can do is just move over and let them go.

Don't give them the finger or yell out the window.

Just let them go.

Let them get going and then you can pick up speed and let them get the ticket for speeding. I like a nice fast car way out front to clear the way for me.

Ditto to that but I've never had the pleasure of gliding past while a LEO has them stoped with his boot on their fender. I am forever hopeful.

if I am in the left two lanes(normally doing about 10 over) and see someone coming up quick I try my best to clear a path, but if I cant and they start acting like an a**hole, getting on my a** and flashing brights, I get pissed. since my rear wiper delete I can squirt water about 20ft behind me standing still, so I will either squirt the Ahole on my a** or (my favorite) down shift into 4th and just forget about the gas pedal till he tries to go around, then gun it and leave them behind.

I allways regret my actions soon after because as fun as it is to mess with a crazy roadrage Ahole, its not worth getting shot by him.

Well, in my state, the cops are never around (I'm guessing painful budget cuts) and they're too lenient. If everyone's going 72-74 mph and the speed limit signs say 60, then what constitutes speeding?

Jeeze, that sounds like me! I drive seventy to seventy five in sixty zones all the time, and I'm just keeping up with traffic!

What's dangerous is large speed variations betweeen vehicles, not exceeding the speed limit.

I'm with you BeasleyBoy, here in WA, the "Ahole" is the one driving the Friggin' Mini Van...what's up with that??!!

Had an Audi B/A Wagon on my Boot Today, it was apparent he was either JEALOUS or wanted to play Kiss A@@ with Molly...I made sure he wasn't there for long!!

Not quite ready for "Racing in the Streets"

Justa getting used to my clubbie...starting to get a little more adventurous, but in Philly, if you mess around too much, you'll be on the evening news listed in critical condition!! going down the shore today, love the wide open road early in the am!!!

I know what ya mean! Had my Justa Clubbie for 5 months now. It took my first Mini rally to "really" let go! My Mid Maryland Motoring Club
(C3M) hosted an awesome run through the twisties in and around Catoctin State Park. Had my husband holding on for dear life! Sport button on, and off we went

Had a blast, and fell even more in love with my MINI
