If you're 15K miles a year holds true, I'd ask MINI service on adding extra oil changes.
The key to the Clubman's engine life is correctly changes it's oil sooner than what MINI recommened.
Consider intervals of at least 6,000 miles or less for each oil change as that will greatly reduce sludging and oil consumption.

Assuming you're comparing to the Genesis Coupe, I'd love to drive an RWD 2-door all-season; especially for track days!

That price does seem high.

Mine was just over $29k out the door with the $1000 sunroof and however much the heated seats cost. I'm pretty sure comfort access and some colored trim don't add up to more than that.

I bought my Clubman S with 3500 mi.on it for $23,500 - $29,000 does seem a bit high. And that white color-splash in the interior seems just plain fugly to me...

Consider going used. I bought my JCW Clubman with 13k on the clock for $23k and still have the maintenance and warranty coverage. I could even extend it through MINI if I wanted to.

Genesis is a good car. My buddy has a 2.0T Rspec? He bought it new for 19k i believe. Car is fast and does well in the canyons. I can definitely keep up with him in the canyons (still on the runflats), but on the straight, he does pull from me.

I would definitely say that the Genesis is a good buy if you are worried about maintenace and warranty.

The Genesis is a *very* good car. But it is not a direct competitor for the Clubman S. The Clubbie has a bunch more interior space and probably handles a wee bit better. The Genesis' motor will stomp on the Clubbie S - no doubt about it. But if you put an Access Port tune on the Clubbie the odds are much more even then.

Either car will be a real joy to drive. The Clubbie will stand out a bit more from the crowd and it is a cooler-looking car, IMHO. But the Genesis is the over-all performance champ and will kick the Clubbie's ***, no doubt about it. You need to decide what traits you value...

Definitely different cars! IMO you mist test drive them both. No way to compare a MINI on paper. My coworker has a Genesis sedan. Big, smooth quiet, luxurious. Great for highway driving.

I drive 35K/year and though I love my car, long highway miles are not it's strength. The super-responsive steering does not support relaxed driving/eating/cell phone use, and though not a super noisy car, it is much more so than the Genesis.

One test drive, though, and I was sold on the MINI :-)
