I have a friend who recently told me that he really trusted the used car salesman we were talking with. I responded by saying that it wasn't that I thought he was being dishonest, I just thought he didn't even care to have a clue about the car we were looking at. I will be sending this thread to my friend. This is just plain funny.

Howdy,
First post at the forums - I did a search on "Suburban" and found this thread and had to register.
I'm now the proud owner of this Clubman "Suburban" edition. One nice thing about dealing with somebody who doesn't know what they have is that you can often get a great deal.
I've been looking for a Clubman and wanted pretty much this exact one, only I would have ordered wood trim instead of Piano Black on the dash. Since the dealer didn't know what options were included (looking at the window sticker in the glove box might help) I was able to get it for a huge chunk below book.
So hi there fellow Mini owners. I'm glad to be among your ranks and glad I got a kick-*** deal on this one. No Prada stickers on the inside, and just need to get the guys at the detail shop to remove the suburban lettering on the back and I'm all set.
But this is a sweet ride. I'm truly loving my commute and weekend trips now.

Yeah, thanks for the welcome. I actually came here looking for previous posts about the car after finding a great thread about how to wire in a radar detector and then seeing that there were suction cup marks on the windshield where the last one had been. Since the "Suburban" thing is a fairly distinctive mod, it wasn't too hard to find here.
Honestly, I'm debating removing the letters. The ignorance they caused at the dealership was good for about $6k below book, so I do have some loyalty there. But I'm kind of a "clean look" guy - no stickers, badges, etc...so having "suburban" stuck on my car kind of bugs me.
The deciding factor is probably going to be how bad the paint looks under the letters. If we get one off and the paint is damaged, I'll own a Mini Suburban. If it looks fine, I'll own a great-looking Clubman. Either way, I'm happy.
