If I forget to...

.......turn off the headlights, will the battery completely drain, resulting in needing a jump, or does the car shut them off automatically, after a period of time?

After boarding the train this morning, I could not remember if I turned off my headlights. I nearly had an ulcer at work, and luckily, I had turned them off.

Your battery should be fine. 07 and later turn off the lights when the MINI is off.

Yeah, my MA told me to just leave them on all the time. The car will know what to do when you shut down and leave, locking the doors behind you.

But I have noticed that you do need to enable the fog lamps each time you motor up. Minor annoyance. At least I get to push a cool button again! That's worth celebrating!

Thanks for the reassurance. This would make sense, since I noticed there is no alarm to remind you like in my previous car.

Dang - how many Hellas do you have?? At 55W each, a pair of them shouldn't draw more than 10 amps with the engine off, and you have a 46 amp-hour battery, so 15 minutes (2.5 amp-hours) should barely make a dent.

check in the Mods/Electrical section and there is a mod to turn on the sport function each time the car is started it may work to do the same with the fog/driving lights. All the circuit there for the switches work the same way just different inputs to the computer. So that may work, or need just slight modification.
