Does anyone know when the new Horizon Blue for R55 Clubman officially goes into production? Didn't see a date/month for this color on MotoringFile.

I talked to an MA here in VA who said it is now available for order, but not listed on the MINIUSA website. Thiis dealership has already ordered both a Cooper and Cooper S in Horizon Blue!

 

It appears to be Week 10 of production which works out to the first week of March 2009.

 

I was told by my MA last week that Horizon Blue is available on the Cooper models before the Clubman. I placed my order for my Horizon Blue Clubman S on Christmas eve. It won't be built until the first week in March. Production week 10 I guess, I thought it was 9? it doesn't really matter at this point. I won't get a production number for a few weeks or more.

 

Hey congrats fertile-turtle on placing your order - and a Horizon Blue one at that! You'll have it just in time for spring!

 

I am hearing conflicting reports, as a few MA (including Krut above) are saying March while others I have spoken with are saying February .

In any event, I think I am going to forego the HC/S JCW Clubman I wanted and go for the Horizon Blue - beautiful color, IMHO

If you need to see a color sample - your local MINI dealership should already have the palette in place for Horizon Blue, Midnight Black and Interchange Yellow

Blue can be a real shiner, if the shade is right. I was worried my BRG would be dull looking during the winter months of gray skies and road junk, but between Griot's and Zaino products the car doesn't ever loose it sparkle. I think the silver top and C posts help.

The Midnight Black and Interchange yellow will be fun to checkout, too.

 

I am glad that I read here on NAM...otherwise I would not even know about the upcoming color changes.

Was in my local dealer less than two weeks ago and was very disturbed that they seemed clueless about the upcoming changes.

Spoke to the Sales Manager first and he flat out said... they don't know about any upcoming color changes.

Five minutes later, I spoke to my MA and he immediately spouted off the three upcoming changes. But, then he said there were no samples or brochures to show the new colors.

C'mon. How can we be this close to the color changes and have no info? Midnight Black is already in production and people are already ordering Horizon Blue sight unseen.

I hope that Krut is correct that the dealers are starting to get the sample boards.

 

I just got an email yesterday from an MA/Sales Manager saying that the Horizon Blue is available for order right now, meaning February builds I think (across the entire range) .......or Week 10 which would be early March based on what Krut said

 

HORIZON BLUE is now available across the board on the MINIUSA configurator!

 

Has anyone ordering Horizon Blue actually received a February build allocation?

 

I have spoken with several dealers who have allocations available, although I have not secured a build slot yet......will be in the next couple of days however.

 

 

i placed my order almost 3 weeks ago. I have not been given a build slot yet. I think they have not officially been able to do it yet. From what my MA has told me the paper work is ready, it just has to be entered when the system will allow it. He seemed to think it would be the first week of March, not before.

 

I was able to spec a couple or cars out of our available allocation (Cooper and Cooper S ) with Horizon Blue starting with Week 6 builds. There's no guarantee that they'll be produced that week, but it appears that's when MINI is aiming to start production with that colour.

 

Was Lightning Blue available for Week 6 builds?

 

got my Prod. number Sat. I was told that I'd have a build week 10 slot, but the order is saying that it may be build week 13 now. (due to slow down at the plant, and with the dealers because of the slow economy) I'm still hoping for build week 10
