No wood MFSW with auto anymore?

Went to the configurator for the gazillionth time. Earlier they had mucked things up to where I had to order most things and forego the packages, something to do with the bluetooth options I think. This time it did something that sort of annoyed me, since it is an important part of my preferred build once I get ready to actually order.

The configurator will no longer allow you to have an auto with the wood MFSW. It tells you specifically that you have to remove the auto in order to get the wood wheel. It wasn't like this about 3 weeks ago when I last accessed the site.

Any insight as to why? I know many have Minis with the wood wheel and autos, which also included a wood shifter **** if I recall.

This will be a major bummer for me, since the wood wheel coupled with the english oak trim was a major part of the interior, and I have never really liked leather wheels.

I did check and I get the same witht he regular mini configurator as the clubman.

It was like that all last summer when I was configuring my Clubman (under model years 08 and 09) :(

hmm . . you can have a wood steering wheel and auto on a regular Cooper in the configurator - seems to be just a conflict on S models. Maybe the paddle shifters are not compatible with the wood wheel?

Man that's a new one-- I have an 09 MCSa with the English Oak trim, EO MFSW w/paddles (had to pay $250 extra) and a EO shift **** to match (an unexpected surprise.) Very classy and impresses all who ride in my car. (the car is a late Sept 2008 build.)

Sometimes the configger will not always give accurate info, for example it says that one cannot add the JCW tune kit to an automatic hardtop, but in reality yes one can do this now (dunno about the Clubby.)

Call MINI USA to see if U can get the scoop!
