ARGH VIRGINITY LOST! ;.;
Noooooooooooooo............. My new Clubbie... it's finally scratched! Arghhhhhhh ;.;
Drove into downtown Milwaukee a few moments ago and was backing up into a driveway. Backed up an inch too much and it bumped into the brick wall ever so slightly. Was hard enough to damage the perforation on the rear bumper(the two bumps on the rear right beside the rear license plate). Damage looks somewhat granulated but it's definitely not just self-fix buff-off scratches. They're deep and it is somewhat dented. What am I looking at for repair charges? ;.;
I'm so mad at myself right now. GAH!

Small consolation, but I jinxed myself right here in this forum this week-I said no rocks/stones had cracked my 'windscreen' yet...got nailed Thursday night, and Friday morning I noticed a large 4 inch crack in my pristine windscreen. Naturally, I got drunk last night and cried in my margarita..or was it margaritas plural...oh yes..I now recall quite a few!
I'll call USAA and have'm patch it...it's not worth the deductible to replace yet, especially since it'll likely happen again very soon. /sigh /checking on Cabo Wabo Tequila supply again.

If it's not too bad sometimes the "paintless dent removal" services can touch-up bumper scuffs. It's a lot cheaper than having a bumper replaced. A few years ago I had a "ding doctor" remove a couple of small dents in the body panels, and while he was at it he asked if I wanted to also have a bumper scuff repaired (it was similar to what you described). I'm not sure what he did, exactly, but it involved a minor paint touch-up, as well. It came out perfect, and was about $100 (I was alredy having the other work done for about $250). Having the bumper replaced has got to run $1,000+.
Yeah, I had hail damage after the first few months of having my '03 Cooper. Found a great PDR guy. Then a door ding, then another, then a wreck. The MINI bounced back after all these episodes and I loved (and respected) the car more than ever. Your MINI will bounce back better than ever, too!!!!

I was freaking out over it for an hour or two but finally calmed down. Still upset but I know I'll get it repaired regardless. Don't think PDR will work in this case because even though there is a dent, the paint was also chipped. Unfortunately, the chipping was also at multiple points, not just one huge chip. I wonder how well metallic paint(mine's nightfire red) would look when it's touched up. Always had bad luck with metallic paint touch ups. If it cannot be done perfectly right, I might just do an "acceptable" fix and decal over it. :P Needless to say, even an acceptable fix has to make it safe to be decal-ed over.
Oh and thanks everyone for grieving with.
