Taking the plunge!!!

I test drove my first clubbie today..wow!! She's as good as mine! Am gonna order tomorrow or saturday from my local mini dealer in albuquerque.

ANy advice? Any experiences at this dealer? How long is delivery taking to a southwest dealer (vegas, phoenix, etc.)

The MA told me 6-8 weeks which seems reasonable. My fear is it is longer than this (i have a lease that ends Jan 28th, 09).

Anybody have complaints/concerns about navi or the ipod/bluetooth feature?

Also looking to use Mini Select for a year and then buy it outright in 12-16 months. Anybody have any experience with Mini select in this sort of situation?

Sorry for all the questions....i'm getting excited!!!!!

Delivery was about 7 weeks to Phoenix with an early May order date.

I thought about the same thing and found that the payment was lower but after paying for 12 months and 24 months i had not really gained any equity in the car.

After 12 months of Mini Select payments ($410.00 a month) on a $30,600 car, to purchase out right i would have to right a check for $30,128 So i would have lost $4448 (4920 - 472 or payments minus equity) So price of car is actually 30,128 + 4448 = $34576

After 24 Months of payments ($410 a month) i would have had to pay a lump sum of $29,400 or a loss of $8640 (9840 - 1200 or payments minus equity) Price of car is actually 29400 + 8640 = $38040

So check the numbers very carefully. My five year loan @ 9% interest will cause the total price of the car to be 34080 (total of monthly payments) + 5000 (down payment) = $39080

As you can see the Mini select is not a very good deal when you look at the over all total cost of monthly payments and final payoff amount.

We got ours from Sandia Mini. Ordered the third week in Aug. Production of 09's started in Sep (ours went into production on the 14th). It left England around the 1st of Oct. We picked ours up on Oct 23rd.

Have fun. And if you see a Chili Red Clubbie with black stripes it's probably us.

I was quoted 4.69% through Fifth-Third going through the dealership.
Pen-Fed, I believe is 4.75, so only pennies difference. Not sure if refi rates are the same, though, but at that rate it's certainly worth looking into.

I was also given Mini Select numbers as I was trying to get my pmt. down. I did some 5 second math and determined it was NOT a good deal as I am planning on keeping the car a long while.

Thanks for the replies!!!

after talking to the MA...that was the impression that i got as well. Looks like i'll be outright financing..paying a little more monthly payments but not getting screwed by the mini select.

I love the bluetooth/iPod factory option. Here is a great thread to read about which cell phones work https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=129431 It's long...you might want to start at the most recent page and work backwards. There is a member by the name of nicknbecka (two people I believe) who has created a wonderful database in their signature that gives a pretty up-to-date accounting of which phones work.
