Clubman 09 vs. 08 Differences?

Greetings All,

There seems to be one older thread on this, so I'm thinking there may be more recent updates. I am receiving a manual Clubman S in late November, and I'm wondering what changes are new from the 08. So far the only real changes that I have seen in other posts are:

- speedometer goes to 160 instead of 150
- there is not a jack and wrench included

Is that all?

Thanks!

So it's true that for the S version there is no jack and wrench included. That just seems to me. I don't care if they come with run flats or not. It hasn't always been that way has it?

Definitely no jack in the 09's. I emailed my MA saying that I would have a tough time accepting a car without a jack. Run flats or no run flats it's BS. Anyway she said, "we'll just take a jack out of an older car". Interesting! Dan

If you don't order fog lights (non s) you still get lights in that spot. When we pickup our car I though there was a bank error in my favor and they put fog lights in by mistake but they actualy function as parking lights. Looks a lot better that the blank spots so I am happy they made that change. By the way if the S does not have a spare what do you need a jack for?

I thought that was on the 08s as well.

It's a tough economy. Gotta cut where ever you can.

Regardless of not having a spare and having run flats no car shold be equiped without a jack. Here's a stupid example that I think makes the point. Your run flat goes bad. You drive the 50 miles run flats can allegedly go. The tire store is 52 miles from when the flat occurred. How do you take the tire off and carry it to the tire store? Or you want to rotate your tires. You have a floor jack. With the car jack you can get one side/end up and with the floor jack the other. Your kid gets a toy stuck under the car. If you move the car the toy breaks; if you jack the car the toy is fine and the kids not crying all day. It's a totally insane way to cut costs by eliminating a jack. I see it as a safety issue. I won't accept my Clubmasn without the jack and lug wrench. By the way I'm an easy going guy. I hope my dealer appreciates that aspect of my charming personality. Jacks for everybody. Dan

08 - Lifetime Sirius
09 - 1 year

I checked, my new 08 definitely has the jack/lug. I also found some stuff hidden in the tire compartment - a collapsible box and a net for something .

I have run-flats and mine has a jack.

Mine started production in September and I had roof rails. Added them at last minute end of August and got them; sat with my dealer at his coomputer to do this. My dealer said his computer indicated my MCC was second '09 to have them. So if your MCC has not started production (having a production number does not mean it has "started"), you may be able to add roof rails, even for November builds.

I know a weird difference. The front seat head rests on an 09 are several inches thicker and stick out over the seat back now.

From what we saw on the Mini Configurator, some of the packages changed slightly. The individual item prices were the same.
The base price jumped what, $450?
