MCCS holds it's own against the exotics...

Well, sort of. I went on a very, I mean VERY VERY... ahem...spirited drive with 20 or so exotics such as Lambos', Ferraris', a variety of AMG's , Porsches, Lotus' (Loti ?), etc. Within the first 5 minutes I really considered bailing out before someone (ME) got seriously hurt or killed. But, since I brought my neighbor along with his Porsche GT3, a monster, (the car, not him), I didn't want to run home like a scared little puppy. So I did what any self respecting male with an undersized engine (Don't Get Smart Now) would have done: Downshift and floor it! The trick is to keep it floored no matter what; even when they're stopped ahead.

Well I made it back alive and more importantly, right along with the rest of the group. We then had an awesome indoor barbecue only to be overshadowed by a hot babe "bikini " wash. I'll tell you this, after the scariest ride of my life, "I" needed the bikini wash more than the car. Sadly that service was not provided. And besides, I refused to wear a bikini.

In any event, the mini didn't disappoint nor leave me embarrassed. That is saying alot considering the company it was in.

Oh, I took pictures but I have NO CLUE on how to post them. Some I took on my camera that uses a 3 1/2 inch floppy disc. The others were taken with my wife's more modern digital.

Congratulations on holding your own against the exotics. I personally think my MINI has phenomenal performance both when driving seriously and when having fun. And...with great gas mileage, who could ask for more!

Did the yuppies want to drive your MCCS?
My Targa owning friend insisted on dropping the hammer in my MCCS in the neighborhood.
After he drove, I drove the same route, with the sport button ON. He was impressed.

I just got from MINIS in the Mountains. I drove the "Western Dragon" a few times while I was there but one of the runs was worth the entire trip. After we did a moderately spirited run with a large group, we went back the other way with only a group of 3. Two late model "S" MINIS and my Justa Clubman. I would like to say on most of the corners, I was on the tail of the S in front of me but he pulled me moderately in the straights. I was always way up in the R's but I stayed up with them. I don't want to treat my car like that all of the time but at least I know I can hang with a lighter and more powerful car. Pretty much what you did, without the bikini wash at the end.

In the end, it's all scenery.

Lurch70,

Thanks for the tip. I actually joined nemini recently. I'd be happy to post pics but I'm clueless.

BTW, I grew up in Brooklyn.
