R55 2009 MINIUSA.com Configurator is Up and Running!
Indi blue has always been my favorite color on a MINI and with the way my luck has been running lately I was expecting MINI to throw that color into the mix, but I am so happy it isn't there.
From what I saw very little if anything has changed so far for 2009.

PRICE CHANGES...
I didn't want to look at that. I know that's a contradiction (I'd look at the colors to see if something I wanted was there but not the price), but I expect a price shift.

I rebuilt my Clubman S to see what the big differences where. Here is what I noticed.
- White signals are now a no-cost option within the sport package.
- There is a no-cost choice between wood and leather steering wheels within the premium package. This may be very attractive for people who wanted wood, but didn't want to pay the $400+ installation.
- DTC is offered, but not until December. I am sure this is great, but I wanted a mechancial LSD and although the website is not explicit, it would only make sense that you cannot combine them as DTC appears to come with ESLD. I am curious what happens if you try to order it as it's not available until December? Are all Clubmans built before that 2008 spec?
I went through it and noticed it gives you the option of wood or leather in that package, but a wood wheel runs you another $250 on the package cost. For the BT package, it gives you the option of the regular BT integration, or the comfort armrest option, which adds $500 to the package.
You can't select the sport option yet since that includes the traction control and will not be available until later in the year. It also says a choice of wheels - not sure if there is a price difference between the two.
Prices went up on a couple options, but not by too much though. They also removed the other interior option - I think it was gotham grey or something like that - it was a zero cost option at the time.

The Premium Package no longer includes the HiFi stereo ($500 option), and the Package cost went from $1500 to $1250. Also, and I could be wrong on this, it seems that the Leather: Punch Carbon Black upholstery ($1,500) is new.
I like the Clubman roof rails!

My build is $850.00 more for 2009 plus the increased cost of the dealer installed sports stripes. I paid $190.00 installed by VDC. Their base was $85 last year.
-Base price of the Clubman S has increased by $250.00
-The HiFi adds $250 to the overall cost of the Premium package when compared to last year.
-The effective cost of the Convenience package has increased for me by $350 (from $1500 to $1,850) since I have to add the armrest and add a "smart phone prep" which I assume is the armrest wiring for the phone cradle. The cradle itself is still a dealer extra.
Overall, I guess that's not bad considering the pitiful shape our once mighty Dollar is in.
BUT I AM LOVIN' ME SOME ROOF RAILS!! I gotta get those added to my 2008! It's a little scary, though, because the pic on the configurator looks like they are bolted through the roof.

I'm sure you can buy them for $250 and pay $1,000 for someone to spend 15 minutes installing them.
Once I get the OEM part #, I will order them and use my vast experience with a screwdriver to put them on.

Someone pass the salt, please.
