Sparkling Silver Clubman Shoutout...pics

Can the Sparkling Silver Clubman get any love?
I haven't seen a thread for this possibly discontinued color(colour), which seems to have been replaced by vibrant pink, mango, or something godawful.

Post a picture please.
Tell us why you picked this color over your other favorites.
Long and winding stories are appreciated and will not be graded.

Here's a Sparkling Silver thread with a number of pics.

My wife and I ordered SS/B because it was our favorite color combo.

I didn't care too much for the color it when I first saw it. However, I went to the dealership this weekend and saw it on a Clubman S for the first time; very, very classy. Actually, if it would have had Nav. I would have driven it home.

Love this color combination. If memory serves me, it's only available in the S, I think if it had been available in the Cooper I might well have gone for it. Very nice, subtle, yet beautiful, color.

Love my sparkling silver clubman!

Dragon Wagon,
Are you kidding!....when I saw sparkling silver on a regular mini on the lot, the day I went in to order my clubman, there was NO QUESTION in my mind that it was the perfect color for me without a doubt. And then when I took my dog to the vet the next day, my vet had a new mini, again the smaller one, (what do you call those?....I know it isn't "regular"....original??), the same color. We both love the color. I think it is subtle and classy. Not everyone is cutout to want brightly colored minis. The dark silver is also appealing to me but the last car that I owned was dark silver and I wanted something different this go round. I think the SS color is unique to a mini, doesn't show dirt nor doesn't scream for attention like a mango color would. I am very happy with my color and if it is discontinued then so be it. It will only make my SS that much more unique. And I think all mini owners are a unique breed in themselves.
Be happy with your choice....it's a good one.

Tilda, I know you love Sparkling Silver, too.
It caught my eye more than any other color on the lot.

I've ordered Pepper White, but Sparkling Silver was a very close second choice. In fact, when I tell people I've bought a Mini, the first thing they ask if I got SS. I then have to explain myself amid accusations that I have no sense of style, etc.

I'm waiting for my SS Clubman S; there are a lot of wonderful SS photos on this thread:

I hope I inserted that link correctly; it's for the Sparkling Silver Owner's Club thread.

To ME, Sparkling Silver was born for bonnet stripes or a viper stripe.

Today, the office building superintendent asked me what the heck I was driving. I told him a Suburban gave birth.

We are now close to ordering, and think the SS with silver might look nice. Any pics?
We were also planning on the hot chocolate leather/cloth interior, but I'm not so sure with the SS outside color.

Mantid supplied this link above. It shows more pics.

Sparkling Silver is almost Olive Green in certain light.

Gotmoxie posted this link with a dozen pages.

I've seen a SS cabrio with the Sidewalk package which has a leather interior that is quite a bit darker than my Tuscan beige (see my gallery). It's a killer combination. I'd have gotten it if I could have (not available in the R56). I bet the chocolate would be great. SS never looks green to me, not even close.

Here's a Sparkling Silver with Silver. Looks like they painted the plastic trim silver too. The car is from Spain. Looks pretty nifty that way I think.

Sparkling Silver doesn't photograph well with many cameras.
The beauties come out looking gold.
Everyone commenting in person on mine notes the green color and asks how the Germans could call it Sparkling Silver. They did the same with VWs a decade ago, too.

The sparkling silver color is very similar to some of the Porsche 930 Turbo's of the late 70's. I think Porsche called it Platinum Metallic.

Big Jim, the pic in my posts is closer to the actual color than others I'm seeing. You'll have forgotten exactly how cool the color is until you pick it up. Did you order stripes/viper? That's getting plenty of comments, too.

DragonWagon,
I haven't seen a SS in person, only pictures. I live in Idaho and my dealer is 450 miles away (Northwest Mini in Seattle). I won't see my first Clubman in person until I pick mine up next month. I didn't get the stripes, but I'll consider them when I see the car.

The one thing I found appealing about the color is how different it looks based on the way the light is hitting it. We were originally interested in Chocolate Brown but we saw one that was fairly dirty on a cloudy day and it just didn't seem that attractive.

GregB,
Not loving HChocolate might get you whacked by some die hards.

... yeah, HC is a very polarizing color, which is one of the reasons I love it. I also chose a darker color this time around so I don't stick out too much as i did with the CR of past

Those SS are great though ... very classy!

There is really only one color that doesn't do anything for me, and that is Oxygen Blue, an MC Coupe only color ... the rest are pretty awesome.

I couldn't pull the trigger on HChocolate.
I was permanently injured by childhood memories of a Hot Chocolate Ford station wagon. That was my reason for passing on it.

haha ... that could do it.

do you guys know that in most fo Europe (especially Eastern) a White colored car is considered a "Company" car or a doctors car ... not many people buy white in Europe and the reslae value on them is really poor.

I am talking more Pure White rather than the MINI Pepper White (which could be a actually a big reason that MINI does not come in Pure White)
