R55 Clubman third brake light lens color
Clubman third brake light lens color
Saturday I noticed that some of the clubmans had a clear third brake light, and others were red. The part number on the lens is identical. There were enough clubmans on the lot that we could disprove almost any explanation of why some were red and some were clear. It's not tied to the C piller color, the roof color, if it's an S or a Cooper, or if the clear lens option was ordered. Does anyone know what combination you have to order to get the clear brake light lens instead of red?
We had two identical blue/silver/silver S with the same options... both launch cars, and one was clear and one was red. The sales manager thought that it might be a factory error and the clear should come with the $100 clear turnsignal package, but there were 3 cars with clear lesns and red brake light.

I think the S you looked at had the wrong one fitted.
All the Cooper S Clubmans we have here have the clear third brake light, and all the Cooper Clubmans have the red one.
EDIT:The red part number is 63-25-7-167-413
The clear part number is 63-25-2-755-613

I don't know if this helps, but we ordered the Rear Fog Light on our Clubman. It's integrated into the rear left tail light, leaving only the Clear Back up Light on the right.
The fog light is not a separate light as it is on the non-Clubman models.

It's not exactly a new idea...it seems that the clubman shares the same fog location as the pre-facelift r53/50's.
Anyone know about its installation? How hard would it be to switch out the red one for a clear one on coopers?

...I don't think it would be too difficult swapping them.
This pic also shows the reverse light in the right tail lamp, with the rear fog in the same place in the left tail lamp.

All these rear lighting otions are interesting. You're gonna have to pay close attention when ordering rear lights. I liked the MINI logo in the center, very cool!
