Why do MINI owners in particular name their cars??? I've owned MANY different types of cars and been involved with their respective "communities" and this is the only "community" that almost enforces that practice. It kind of baffles me as I've gone to MINI meets over the past two years and have almost been scoffed at for not naming my car...

 

Chicks dig anthropomorphization.

 

Anything with as much personality as these cars have need a name! And besides...why not??!!! It's all part of the fun of owning and motoring in the MINI

 

My Wife is loving her 2011 Clubby even more after I suprised her with new 17" Motegi Wheels and DWS tires. The mudflaps, bigger rubber, carbon fiber JCW hood scoop and wrapped headlight rings really make it "Pop."

She is getting stares when ever she drives it and for the first time in her life says she has a fun car and not a "family" car!

 

Dont get me wrong I LOVE my mini. I just see my car as an extension of me not necessarily another entity. Although with as many headaches as this car has given me its definitely a WOMAN! LOL!

 

Will be posting new pics next weekend after I complete the TRANSFORMATION to the "new" look!
But for now, here's what it looks like ....

Why break up the lines even more that the C-pillars already do?

 

I was thinking it did the opposite. It seemed to create a line where the roof looks supported by the silver A-pillar, C-pillar, A-panel and the shroud for the taillights...

Plus it's different, which is part of the spirit of MINI.

 

Im not going to flame someone for something on their car(unless of course its really bad ie wooden spoilers and such). Your car, your taste. I like the line down the side of the car along with the long roof line. Its sleek. To my eye it takes away the flow of the car from front to rear. I feel the same way about the carbon fender replacements when left unpainted. Really though its irrelevent its your ride, mod away. Good Luck!

 

It's cool, I appreciate criticism and praise, even though no one has said they like it. I put it up partly for that reason. While I still plan on doing it, I didn't want to do something and then have people asking me what the $#%@ I was thinking. I also dislike the CF look, like you said, it's a matter of taste.

I don't want to turn this thread in to anything more than it is, people showing off the MINI's they love. So, thanks for your input, it may sway me, we'll see...
