are any of you guys promised feb. delivery?

i am looking for a clubman for my wife, she decided last week she wants one(last min.), but we have no deposits anywhere.

i have called a few dealers in the midwest and looks like i will be driving to get one, but it must be in feb. because my current mini is almost sold.

what have been your experiences with "extra" cars coming in?

The dealers will have some prespecs coming in for Feb. 16th. I suspect they are already there as they were done and waiting at the docks in early January.
I had a deposit on one for 25 months so was no. 1 in line for Arizona.
I know the dealership will keep a couple for demos and I am not sure if the rest are promised to people waiting. You need to check with dealerships to see if all are spoken for.
Mine is due to land in California Sunday. Hoping to have OTTO shortly after the launch date.
They will not have a large monthly allocation of them for the U.S. so get in line soon.

I was the first to order one from my dealer. Ordered back on 12/23/07. Its now seating on the dock in N.J. My MA just e-mail me saying I would probably get it on the 16th.

 

I also have the #1 spot at my dealer and the car should be arriving in the US on 2/11 and hoping to pick it up during launch day or thereabouts. I ordered it on 12/14, built on 1/17 and finally booked on the ship as of 2/1. Production spot allocations are highly dependent on what MINI is giving to each dealer. The Clubman will see reduced production for the United States, so if you want one, you need to get in line, and soon.

 

Also if you order a Clubman now, you are probably looking at a March build date and April delivery. We just finalized selling our '02 Cooper today, so now we are down to 1 car (My '05 MCS) so hopefully it won't be more than 2 weeks between now and the time it takes for delivery.

 

I'm on the same ship as Cloud10... ordered my clubby in November. I think a pre-spec might be your best shot. Have you asked your local dealers about those? I assume they will carry and immediate delivery premium, being so close to launch date, but maybe you'll get lucky!

The dealership does have some pre-spec "launch" cars that could possible be for sale (every dealership can do what they want with them, i.e. demo, show car, or for sale.)

List whats she wants and I'll see what the Launch cars look like, you might be able to get one of the "Launch" cars.

All dealerships get these same cars BTW, so list the options/colors you like and I'll look into it.

 

I've got one on order, but I haven't decided if I'm going to keep it or not, because my wife decided she wants Hot Chocolate. It'll be done today, and it should be shipped over fairly soon, so I should have it at the end of Feb. or beginning of March.

The MSRP is $25,000. If I sell it, I'll probably ask for $2k more than MSRP since I expect them to be in demand, and it would go to someone who doesn't want to wait. It'll be my wife's decision. We're going to a launch party next Friday, so we'll see how she feels after that. But if anyone thinks they might be interested in it, send me a note.

now i just need to sell my 06 somewhat close to my due date-

i checked on launch cars and none of them were loaded, so we decided to get what we wanted, i gotta have a blk headliner-

 

I believe the black only comes with silver not black on black. You might want to check on that. MINI was pretty adamant that they wouldn't allow same color C pillars on that color. My Clubman brochure from the UK only shows Black with Silver.

Are you going to modify it with black pillars? I know a lot of people have thought of doing that. I am sure one of the vendors will offer it.

One of my customers wanted me to get black as he thought it would look like a little hearse. Never occurred to me. I just didn't want a black car as it is hard to see at night and the big trucks and SUVs in this town don't see or pay attention to the little cars. I have a Suburban and a Nissan Titan and they ride my bumper as it is. Can't wait to see them do that with the Clubman. They don't seem to do it to my BMW though. Probably too busy looking at my gorillas who are in it.

 

I'm getting an Astro Black w/silver roof and could have gotten a black roof but not the black "C" pillar. I plan to have the "C" painted black later on.
