grille change on cool blue

I did the black out tape from Pep Boys and it looked okay. I tried some sign vinyl and it made a big difference. Now does any one have the hot orange slats to sell?

Whoa! That's an eye popper.

If you're going to go for a Hot Orange Grill, you should get yourself some Hot Orange mirror caps, too.

IMO having another contrasting item will help balance the whole look.

I bet you could get the sign vinyl for that.

It was time for a new look.

The wife liked the look of the GP mirrors so I painted the caps and got a red grille. The rest of the orange bits went too. The orange and blue Florida school colors were good for me during the Gator championship runs, but she didn’t care for it too much since she went to Miami.

Well, you certainly have a unique MINI!

BTW, why didn't you do the bottom slat? I think it would look good if it matched the upper grille.

I was thinking about that too..I just have to get around to it.

I was going to get the top and bottom chrome slat covers and paint them but the top red grille came up on eBay so we went for it first.

It sure is easier to spot coming the road.

If anyone is interested, there is a blue eBay grille that the seller even mentions will look good on a white or silver car. Glad to see someone else could do it too.

Thats certainly unique! If it were me, I'd do the bottom grill and then I'd black out the rest of the grill to complete the look. To me, it looks really good on your mirror caps with the red on black but the red on chrome looks funny IMO.

Still, very creative!
