My new Flames and Euro Tag

Just received my new Euro plate from some really good guys at http://www.autoplates.com/ki14000.htm

What a great bunch o guys! I requested a certain set up and they gladly retooled to oblige me.

The flames are from cooperflags.com very easy to install with the help of my 9 & 10 yr old's it was a great family fun time. As for "Brian" he was quite bored! (seated in the MINI).

That looks great, DSA!

Did you replicate your TX plates on the Eurostyle plate? Smart idea!

Thanks guys,

I did indeed replicate my TX DL # due to the fact TX is a front DLP state. If they pull me over so be it it is the correct # and it is reflctive.

I will take some better pics tonight it looks soo good almost invisable untill the flash hits em.

Wait... so if you have these guys make your state license plate with the required codes, it's LEGAL? I had no idea that could be done! Really? If you have a vanity plate, do the same rules apply?

I'm no attorney, but I think they still got ya if this Texas law is enforced as the euro plate was not actually assigned by the department even though it displays the same numbers and is reflective:

§ 502.404. OPERATION OF VEHICLE WITHOUT LICENSE PLATE OR
REGISTRATION INSIGNIA. (a) A person commits an offense if the
person operates on a public highway during a registration period a
passenger car or commercial motor vehicle that does not display two
license plates, at the front and rear of the vehicle, that have
been:
(1) assigned by the department for the period; or
(2) validated by a registration insignia issued by the
department that establishes that the vehicle is registered for the
period.
(b) A person commits an offense if the person operates on a
public highway during a registration period a passenger car or
commercial motor vehicle, other than a vehicle assigned license
plates for the registration period, that does not properly display
the registration insignia issued by the department that establishes
that the license plates have been validated for the period.
(c) A person commits an offense if the person operates on a
public highway during a registration period a road tractor,
motorcycle, trailer, or semitrailer that does not display a license
plate, attached to the rear of the vehicle, that has been:
(1) assigned by the department for the period; or
(2) validated by a registration insignia issued by the
department that establishes that the vehicle is registered for the
period.
(d) Subsections (a) and (b) do not apply to a dealer
operating a vehicle as provided by law.
(e) An offense under this section is a misdemeanor
punishable by a fine not to exceed $200.

Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 165, § 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1995.

I really do feel sorry for all you folks living in front plate states.

P.S. those flames are sweet!

Flames are real easy to put on my advise would be to get 2 spray bottles just in case you run light in the middle of the project. Wash your mini real good with dawn to strip any wax. You will also use dawn to mix with the h2o in the bottles get the car good and wet/soapy as well as the decal. follow the cooperflags web sit instructions and it is a snap. The decals will slide around a bit so use blue painters masking tale for marker guide in a few spots.

FYI the frost flames are clear with a bit of metallic to them so what ever color your car is they will match and look subtle. The first one took about 45 min the 2nd about 20 I now want the either dual frost stripes or the frost flame from cooper flags.

My kids helped hold the flames in place while I squeegied. The decals are on a waxy paper backing similar to those decals we use to put all over our BMX bikes as kids very simple.

I did call around to inquire about installation and was floored at the $300.00 estemates I received.Note I had a bubble or two on the first side but due to the Texas heat they disappeared the next day so it looks factory.

Very pleased indeed.

I like the idea of the frost vinyl. It always looks nice. Someone at one of the AMVIV's had a design done with it one year and it gave me so many new ideas.
Good stuff indeed

I like how the flames look. They were supposed to send me a sample of the material so I could see how it looked on my color but they never did. Perhaps some day I'll follow up with that...

LOVE the flames... I wonder if something similar could be done with hot orange, and if I'd go slighty darker or slightly lighter.

Do you happen to have a picture (perhaps from the manufacturer's site) of JUST the flames on a single-colored BG (hopefully white)? that way I can Photoshop them onto a pic pf my car to see how they look...

They will be the color of your car as they are frosty/transparent in nature. On light cars they are dark on darkies they are lighter
